One of the organizers, Marlboro resident, Brendan O'Reilly stated, "Some of the top named judges will be officiating this EUSPBA (Eastern United States Pipe Band Association) sanctioned competition. World renowned piper Bruce Gandy will be on-site, as well as drumming guru, Hugh Cameron. It will be a great day of music and fun. So, mark your calendars and join us for our debut !"
The closing ceremony will consist of a 'Mass Bands', when all of the pipers and drummers play and march together. The event will also be raising funds for the Wounded Warrior Project and local Marlboro resident, E6 Staff Sgt. Gene R Cirillo, a Marine Veteran.

Swim Now - and into the Fall - with a Propane Pool Heater
Answer this question honestly (we won't be offended): wouldn't you rather be swimming in your pool than reading this blog? You could be if you had a propane pool heater.
Propane pool heaters - efficient, low-maintenance swimming comfort
A propane pool heater works the same way your home water heating system does: it burns gas to warm incoming cold water, then cycles the warm water back into the pool.
Propane pool heaters are almost identical to natural gas pool heaters - except you won't have the hassle or expense of connecting to a natural gas line. Propane pool heaters are great for in-ground and aboveground pools and spas - especially in places like the lower Hudson Valley, where evenings are cooler and swim seasons are shorter.
Propane pool heaters are:

Easy to install and maintain-Ultra efficient-Extremely durable and reliable-Eco-friendly-Available in a number of sizes & colors
Propane: the best pool heater option-Propane pool heaters enjoy significant advantages over other pool heater types, including:
  • Electric heat pumps - a swimming pool heat pump can only produce water that's slightly warmer than the temperature of the air. That works if you live in Florida, but in the Hudson Valley? Not so much.
  • Solar pool heaters - swimming pool heaters are great - on clear, sunny days during the daytime. Why swim only when it's sunny?
  • Natural gas - same performance, no hassle or expense to link to a natural gas line. Again, propane wins.
Extend your swim season and keep the pool comfortable in any weather with a propane pool heater from Porco! Contact us for details.

Summer Training Schedule
At Pet N Play Resort, we know that dogs who have a solid obedience education are a joy to live with; they respond well to household routines, have good manners in the presence of people and other dogs, and they fully enjoy the company of the owner who took the time to provide training and intellectual stimulation. Group training classes at the Canine Academy are scheduled to fit around your busy life. Orientation for all new students will be held on Tuesday, June 14th and Wednesday, June 15th at 6:30pm. Group Training Classes: $175 for 5 Weeks- Here is an exciting breakdown of what we have to offer:

S.T.A.R. Puppy Preschool-Monday, 6/20, 6/27, 7/11, 7/18, & 7/25, 6:30pm Thursday, 6/23, 6/30, 7/7, 7/14, 7/21, 6:30pm-no class on July 4th.

S.T.A.R. Puppy is a brand new program from the AKC designed to get your puppy off to a good start and on the road to becoming a Canine Good Citizen. It's a fact that what your puppy learns during the first eight to sixteen weeks of age is going to play a major role in what kind of adult dog you will have. This hands-on course covers all the basics, including socialization, feeding, house training, basic obedience, handling, problem prevention and the keys to communicating with your new best friend! We will then put your puppy's skills to the test.
BONUS DEAL!!! -Proper puppy socialization is a critical component in creating a friendly, well-mannered adult dog. In fact, most of the behavioral problems we see in adult dogs could have been prevented or quickly corrected with proper socialization as a puppy. Now as an added bonus - all puppies enrolled in our puppy class will receive complimentary membership in our Puppy-Only Daycare program held 7am-7pm each day your puppy attends class.
Your puppy will have fun and gain confidence while working on their canine communication in a safe, upbeat atmosphere filled with lots of new friends! Orientation is required for all new students and will be held Tuesday, June 14th and Wednesday, June 15th at 6:30pm.
Basic Obedience-Tuesday, 6/21, 6/28, 7/5, 7/15, & 7/19, 6:30pm-
In this class, we will work on basic on-leash obedience. Your dog will learn to walk nicely on-leash without pulling, to sit-stay, down-stay, come and go to their "place" on command, and to "leave it" when told to. Most importantly they will learn how to work around other dogs! For dogs ages 18 weeks to senior; no prior obedience experience is required!
**Orientation is required for all new students and will be held on Tuesday, June 14th and Wednesday, June 15th at 6:30pm.
Intermediate Obedience-Tuesday, 6/21, 6/28, 7/5, 7/15, & 7/19, 7:30pm
Can your dog sit, down, stay, and come if a tennis ball or toy is flying by? How about if other dogs or people are strolling by? In this class, we take the behaviors that our dogs already know to the next level, through distraction, distance and duration so our environment does not dictate whether our dogs can listen! This is an intermediate classthat requires solid basic obedience skills. Orientation is required for all new students and will be held Tuesday, June 14th and Wednesday, June 15th at 6:30pm.
Puppy Plus-Wednesday, 6/22, 6/29, 7/6, 7/20, 7/27, 6:30pm**Please note there will be no class on Wednesday, July 13th.
This is an all new class designed for puppies ages 20-35 weeks looking to begin or continue their canine education. In this class, your adolescent will continue to work on basic obedience skills, including down, sit, stay, and name recognition & recall. In addition, we will continue to work on socialization skills and guide you through the beginnings of adolescence.
Orientation is required for all new students and will be held Tuesday, April 19th and Wednesday, April 20th at 6:30pm.
Advanced Obedience-Wednesday, 6/22, 6/29, 7/6, 7/20, 7/27, 7:30pm**Please note there will be no class on Wednesday, July 13th
Once you and your dog have completed Basic and Intermediate classes, it's time to take your skills to the next level. You and your dog will practice high-level leave its, sit and down stays, and come over longer distances and through multiple distractions. All class attendees should come to class with a 20-25 feet lead ready for a challenge!
Orientation is required for all new students and will be held on Tuesday, June 14th and Wednesday, June 15th at 6:30pm.
Stay N Train Packages-Between school, work, family, errands, business trips, and vacations, you don't always have time to get the training you and your dog need. That's why we offer Stay N Train Packages for overnight and daycare guests to work under the guidance and expertise of our trainers to develop the skills and manners your dog needs to be a happy, well-adjusted member of the family. Each Stay N Train Package includes an initial consultation where we discuss your obstacles and goals and make a detail plan to overcome and achieve them; and a follow up where we show you how to have continued success at home. Send us your door jumpers, food thieves, couch chewers and hole diggers. Send us your whiners, nippers and antsy pants. We will send back a polite dog ready to impress your houseguests! For pricing and packages, please call our Reservation Specialist at 845-764-9905.

Private Obedience Training-Group obedience classes are great but sometimes you can't fit them into your schedule, or perhaps your dog is not a good candidate for group class. One hour individualized lessons focus is on you, your dog, and the skills and behaviors YOU want your dog to learn. Call now to schedule your evaluation and book your private sessions!
