We are excited to announce that the South Carolina Healthy Food Financing Initiative  (HFFI) received $250,000 from the S.C. General Assembly during the 2016 legislative session!

HFFI is a public-private partnership which will support local farmers and businesses by providing access to loans to support the establishment, renovation, and expansion of food projects in underserved communities. These food projects include farmers' markets, grocery stores, mobile markets, and small food stores.

The S.C. Food Access Task Force , led by our Chief Operating Officer, Anna Hamilton Lewin, has been working since 2012 to secure funding for a HFFI in South Carolina in order to increase access to healthy food in food desert communities throughout the state. We are pleased to be reporting on the progress we have made and look forward to moving these efforts forward.

We appreciate your continued support of our mission and invite you to learn more about HFFI and the task force's work to expand healthy food access by joining the food access mailing list here.

In Partnership,

Michelle Mapp
Chief Executive Officer
