As the U.S. population ages, Alzheimer's, dementia, and related illnesses will have a significant impact on our community, and our businesses.
According to research commissioned by the Alzheimer's Association, Alzheimer's disease costs U.S. businesses billions each year, stemming from lost productivity and absenteeism with primary caregivers and the business share of health and long-term care expenses. Millions of working caregivers are providing care to a family member or friend with Alzheimer's.
But, making it easier for people with dementia to do everyday business in the community also has clear benefits for business: retention of existing customers and attraction of new ones.

Home Show Survey
For many years, the Forest Lake Area Chamber of Commerce hosted an annual Home Show - a community and business expo designed to connect members with the community. The Home Show was discontinued in 2013.
Based on member feedback, the Chamber is evaluating the possibility of launching a new community and business expo in the spring of 2017. To help the planning committee, we're asking for your help in completing this

Scandia Marine Lions Club 3rd Annual Paddle-Run-Bike Triathlon
Saturday, July 9th
Please join the Scandia Marine Lions Club for the 3rd Annual Saint Croix Fat Cat Triathlon, presented by the Scandia-Marine Lions Foundation.
Participants in the Saint Croix Fat Cat will paddle, run and pedal their way along one of the finest routes we could dream up! Racers will paddle 3.8 miles on the Saint Croix Scenic Riverway downstream from Scandia's Log House Landing, around Greenburg Island into William O'Brien State Park. After exiting the watercraft, they will run a 5.5 mile majestic route through the park ending at Scandia-Marine Lions Park. They will transition to their bikes for an 11 mile ride along the shores of Big Marine Lake and through some of Scandia's idyllic back roads, finishing back at the Lions Park where they can enjoy a catfish snack & beverage.
Custom T's awarded to top finishers. This will be a day of exercise, food, music and FUN!
All proceeds go back to the community, education, and Lions causes.

uesday, July 12th - first race at 7pm. All Forest Lake Area Chamber of Commerce members are invited and will receive a live racing program, $10 match bet, $5 food coupon, free trout pond fishing pole rental, and a deck of playing cards. No RSVP required - just stop at the Registration Table in the Atrium to receive your Chamber packet.

Lakes Area Youth Service Bureau present Taste! - a fun-filled evening connecting with the community and supporting LAYSB. Taste! will be held on Wednesday, July 13th from 5:30 - 8:00pm at Splitrocks Entertainment Center in Wyoming. Sample food from over 20 different restaurants, beer and wine samples, cash bar, raffle baskets, and more. Fun for everyone! Tickets are $25 in advance (available from the Forest Lake Area Chamber of Commerce) or $30 at the door
