Collaborative student project helps local children with disabilities
A Wichita State project is customizing toys for children with disabilities. The project, called GoBabyGo!, is a collaboration between Rainbows United and students in physical therapy and engineering. WSU's first GoBabyGo! project involved modifying a ride-on car for a 3-year-old with dwarfism. More information...
WSU will soon have a 20-acre on-campus area, called Braeburn Square, reserved for restaurants, shops and lodging. A 123-room Element by Westin Hotel is set to open in Braeburn Square in 2017. Braeburn Square will further WSU's plan to be a place where people can live, work, learn and play.
A new Law Enforcement Training Center will be built on WSU's Innovation Campus. The center will include training space and classrooms for the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Department, Wichita Police Department and WSU Criminal Justice Program. Students will benefit from a close relationship with law enforcement, including internships, co-op positions and applied learning opportunities.
Graduate student creates computer program for nonprogrammers
Graduate student Arfath Mohammad created a computer program to assist students in building their own computer programs. The software is free to use and supports a variety of programming languages.
