Summer at The Grove is in full swing. Camps have started and
Summer History Tour, including the marvelous
Dr. John Kennicott Exhibit, is underway. This is a great time of year to visit, so bring your family out to experience the past with
Pioneer Day on June 25 or sample some of our great nature programming-learn about dragonflies and chickens or come out and join us for a magical night focused on fireflies or bats. The Grove has something for everyone!
Pioneer Day
Saturday, June 25, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Grove Staff will take you and your family on a journey through the past with tours, hands on activities and historical demonstrations, such as candle making, cooking and blacksmithing. Admission is FREE and refreshments will be available.
Costumed staff led tours of the historic Kennicott House, Log Cabin, School House, Native American Longhouse and the Dr. John Kennicott Exhibit in the Archives Building. Available on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Bring the whole family! Admission is free.
The new Archives Addition is complete and was dedicated on May 25. The Grove Heritage Association presented a check to the Glenview Park District to help fund this beautiful work area and artifact storage space. While this remarkable room will normally be closed to the public, you can get a sneak peek during Pioneer Day on
June 25from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
