Faculty bestowed honors for their work and dedication

The culmination of spring semester brought much-deserved awards for distinguished Reinhardt University faculty including an award presented to Cindy Moss, lecturer of business administration in the McCamish School of Business. Moss (pictured at right with Dr. Jonathan Good) was selected for the Vulcan Teaching Excellence Award through the Georgia Independent College Association.

RU musical theatre camp opens enrollment for high schoolers

Reinhardt University's School of Performing Arts faculty will host a musical theatre summer camp for rising high school freshmen through recent high school graduates in July.

In its first year, the camp is geared at providing collegiate level training to those interested in the performing arts. The camp, led by music instructor Brian Osborne, will include training in vocals and acting, with a final cabaret performance at the Falany Performing Arts Center. ... Read More
Reception to honor Doris Jones' service to Reinhardt 

Doris Jones has worked in the business office for more than 40 years at Reinhardt. Everyone is invited to a reception in her honor Monday, June 20, from 2 to 4 p.m. It will be held in the Science Center next to the Dobbs Building.

Reinhardt hosts dinner at annual UMC Conference

Reinhardt University participated in the United Methodist Church's 2016 North Georgia Annual Conference in Athens, Ga., June 7-9.
 
Dr. Kina Mallard, president, Tim Norton, vice president for advancement and marketing, Dale Morrissey, director of development and external relations, and Hilary Martin, enrollment manager and graduate admissions counselor, co-hosted Reinhardt's annual dinner on the opening day of the Conference, and Reinhardt was well-represented by many alumni leaders including outgoing Conference Lay Leader, Mathew Pinson.

Dr. Kitchens' article featured in Atlanta's SaportaReport

Dr. Joseph Kitchens' article "Remember Goliad: Georgians in a Desperate Land" was featured in Atlanta's SaportaReport issue for
Memorial Day, May 30, 2016.  The article appeared in "Jamil's Georgia," a regular column of the online magazine where members of the Georgia Humanities Council discuss Georgia's history and culture. 

Goliad, Texas was the scene of a terrible massacre of revolutionaries in 1836, including a band of Georgians who had come to join the fight for Texas independence from Mexico. Those executed included their commander, Col. James Fannin, after whom Fannin County, Georgia is named.

Reinhardt Athletics Headlines


For the first time in the history of Reinhardt's softball program, two athletes have earned First Team and Second Team All-American honors from the NAIA as  Randi Wimpy  was named a First Team All-America, while  Taylor Weeks  was named Second Team All-America.  Wimpy also earned First Team All-America honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).

Wrestling area construction is under way in the
Brown Athletic Center


Work has begun on renovations to provide a special practice facility for Reinhardt's new wrestling program in anticipation of the inaugural team's arrival in August.

Workers are now in the area of the Brown Athletic Center formerly nicknamed the "Blue Gym" preparing a locker room, training room, lobby area, and laundry area around the existing office area currently used by new head coach Jeff Bedard.  Some of the work in the "Blue Gym" has been completed with a new wall and fresh coats of paint rimming the area around the inside of the structure. ...  Read More
