Message from the Superintendent

As we close out the 2015-2016 school year, it is important to reflect upon our successes and set clear goals and priorities for the future. Our students are always at the forefront of our mission and at our recent State of the District meeting, I reviewed the outcomes of our three year Strategic Action Plan. Our plan centered on five focus areas with specific goals and objectives under each:

  1. Student Achievement, Access and Equity

  2. Technology

  3. Community and Public Relations

  4. School Safety, Health and Wellness

  5. Facilities

A detailed report summarizing the plans impacts and accomplishments will be mailed out in the next few weeks. Our State of the District video is also available to view personal stories from across the district related to our five strategic goals. The district has much to be proud of during the past three years since the strategic action plan was implemented, but we have much more to do. In August, the Board of Education and I will begin the process of developing a new multi-year strategic action plan continuing our work to provide a solid foundation for our students to succeed.

As our graduates at all our schools prepare for new and exciting challenges, I am confident they have the tools to be productive and responsible global citizens. Best wishes for an enjoyable summer and looking forward to the new school year ahead.

Sincerely,

Mike McLaughlin, Ed.D.
