Human Resources Information

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL EMPLOYEES:

The State Enterprise Resource System, wvOASIS, and the time and leave program Kronos went live for New River CTC as part of the Wave 2 Implementation on Saturday, May 14.

What this means: A move from 24 semi-monthly paychecks to 26 bi-weekly paychecks per year. Paydays will be every other Friday beginning June 10.

PLEASE NOTE : Your paychecks will be less due to:
  • (Hourly employees only) receiving pay on May 31 for May 1-13 instead of May 1-16. The June 10 paycheck will be for May 14-27 (you will receive pay for every hour you work).
  • being paid more frequently
  • deduction amounts (1/24th) remaining the same through June
Be sure to calculate your new net pay so you can plan ahead for the decreased pay in future paychecks. Check any automatic deductions for online bill payers.  There is a bi-weekly payroll estimator that may be of assistance. Go to www.wvoasis.gov and log into MyApps, click on the orange Employee box.

Leave and timesheets :
  • Correct and current leave balances for leave eligible employees are to be loaded into Kronos on Wednesday, May 18.  Leave eligible employees must continue to submit leave requests in both the Leave Management system as well as through your Kronos account.
  • Continue submitting paper timesheets if you do so currently. Full time regular hourly employees must also punch in and out of Kronos. Failure to do so will put you at risk of incorrect or non-payment.
If you have questions or concerns please contact Kenny Smith at 304-929-6718 or ksmith@newriver.edu.

Please know these are not New River CTC's systems. Use of these systems has been mandated by the State of WV, and New River CTC is required to comply.

Connecting Our Community: Day Without Shoes

Regional Director of Operations for the Nicholas County Campus Mary Igo and Teri Harlan of the United Way of Southern West Virginia participated in One Day Without Shoes on May 10 to raise awareness that there are children in our area that either do not have shoes or proper shoes.  TOMS Shoes is donating one pair of shoes for every picture of bare feet posted on Instagram with the hashtag #withoutshoes.

Mary and Teri walked a city block barefoot with others including the mayor of Summersville and the city police chief to bring awareness to the issue.
