Gastrointestinal Patterns and Relations to Skin Problems - Acupuncture, Food and Herbal Strategies
Come spend a weekend in Fort Collins, Colorado with
Dr. Linda Boggie!

Two common problems in the small animal practice are gastrointestinal complaints and skin problems and often these are related.  Current western biomedicine research also recognizes this connection between intestinal integrity and many "allergic" skin diseases.  Chinese medicine has always recognized this connection and has many options of therapy to correct the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract and through this aid resolution of many acute and chronic skin problems.

During these two days Dr. Boggie will review the pathophysiology of gastrointestinal problems such as inflammatory bowel disease, chronic colitis and gastritis, and discuss various acupuncture treatment strategies.  There will be discussions of the role the Zang-fu organs have in development in skin disease patterns and discussions of different patterns of diagnosis and acupuncture strategies that can be employed.

Often these patients need additional support and prescription diets are not enough.  So in addition to the acupuncture there will be an introduction into the use of Chinese Food and Herbal medicine with specific focus on aiding your acupuncture treatment strategies for gastrointestinal and dermatologic issues.
