Students Attend Event Honoring Mexican-American Veterans
Many Fullerton College students attended an event in Santa Ana to hear Artist Carlos Aguilar speak about a massive mural he painted to honor Mexican-American soldiers who fought in World War II. Professor Jerry Padilla helped make the day happen for FC students. Read more in the

President's Open Forum and Office Hours
In an effort to encourage communication and strengthen teamwork across campus, President Greg Schulz has scheduled a series of Open Forums and Office Hours. All faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to attend. The next open forum is today, May 16 at 2 p.m. in Room 224. There are upcoming office hours, the first is on Tuesday, May 17 from 10 to 11 a.m. and the second is on Tuesday, May 24 from 1 to 2 p.m.
FC Forensics Speech and Debate Team Finish Strong
The Fullerton College Forensics Speech & Debate Team finished their 2016 season strong, taking home numerous awards during the 22nd Blumer Speech & Debate Tournament at Cal State Fullerton on May 7.

Classified Staff Appreciation Lunch
Classified staff are invited to the annual Classified Staff Appreciation Lunch on June 1. There will be tacos made-to-order, desserts and side dishes courtesy of FC managers, a photo booth, music and volleyball on the quad. Come hungry! A dinner will be held for the night crew on a later date.

This is the last week of the Student Art Exhibition. Admission is free to the public, so come see the excellence of our student artists! Many works are available for purchase.
The Fullerton College Synergy Vocal Jazz and Jazz Lab Band Ensembles present a wonderful evening of jazz.
The concert will present piano music majors and Certificate of Piano Teaching students playing their prepared pieces.
FC Brass Choir, French Horn Club, Student Brass Quintets, Trombone Choir, Barbershop Brass Singers perform during this event. Featuring music from classical to pop, in an entertaining program that's sure to put you in a "summer vacation" mood!
A variety show featuring the Fullerton College Concert Choir with selected solos and small groups performing musical theatre selections, love songs, and spirituals.
An evening of comedy improv performed by the students enrolled in THEA 122 F: Improvisation for Television, Film and Theatre.
The Fullerton College Big Band and J Train present an exciting evening of instrumental and vocal jazz.

Baseball
The Hornets ended another fantastic season on Sunday after falling to Cypress College in the Super Regionals. The best-of-three series began on Friday with the Hornets winning game one in a 5-0 shutout. FC pitcher Randall Ortiz threw a complete game earning his ninth win of the year. In game two on Saturday, Fullerton struggled a bit stranding seven runners and lost a tough one 11-4. In the final and deciding game on Sunday, the Hornets battled it out for 10 innings with the Chargers and wound up losing 5-4.
Softball
The Hornets finished their fine season over the weekend at the Super Regionals hosted by Cypress College. On Friday, Fullerton was blanked by Cypress 5-0 in game one of the double-elimination tournament. In their next game against Palomar College, FC was held scoreless against the Comets in a 3-0 loss. .
Men's Track and Field
Justin Walker came up big in the Regional Championships when he won both of his events in the Long Jump and 110m HH and will be one of the favorites in both events at the State Championships in San Diego Mesa next Saturday. In the Shot Put, Francisco Padilla came up big in the preliminary, setting a personal best of 14.46m (47' 5"). This placed him in the regional final.

Women's Track and Field
The Southern California Track and Field Regional Championships were held at Antelope Valley College this past Saturday and the Hornets were among the top 30 plus community college teams in attendance. Samantha Duong had a spectacular day as she became the runner-up athlete in the 400M Hurdles. Duong ran her best time of the season at 1:03.98 advancing to the State Championships. She also competed in the 100M Hurdles and finished in eighth place with a time of 16.41. In the field events, Madison Fitzpatrick competed in the Javelin first for her first event of the day. She threw 80 feet finishing in 12th place overall. She also competed in the shot put event in the afternoon and threw 35' 1/2" claiming 12th place.
