This film chronicles the staggering efforts to bring Nazi war criminals to justice. Few figures encapsulate the conflicted character of postwar Germany better than Fritz Bauer, the Attorney General who was instrumental in bringing the elusive Adolf Eichmann to trial in Israel. This film is a moving portrait of a complex man that revealed the Herculean efforts and tremendous risks undertaken en route to apprehending the chief engineer of the Nazis' Final Solution. Fritz Bauer was the Attorney General portrayed in "Labyrinth of Lies." This is the story that led up to the Frankfurt Auschwitz Trials.

He was arrested during Kristallnacht in November of 1938 and sent to Buchenwald Concentration Camp. He still had the receipt for his affidavit to leave the country and convinced Nazi officials to release him. Kurt wanted to immigrate to America and was able to get to Belgium and finally New York in 1939, where he joined the U.S. military. Kurt has been the secretary of The Benefactors of the Jewish Club of 1933 for 60 years. This is Kurt's first time speaking at LAMOTH.
