Snohomish Kid's get running!

The KlaHaYa Kid's Marathon, funded by the Snohomish Education Foundation, is a marathon program for kids in kindergarten through sixth grade.  It encourages healthy habits and an active lifestyle. Kids  keep track of their miles completed on their individual Mile Counter booklet.   For each five miles completed, participants can present their Mile Counter to their school coordinator/running club advisor to earn a foot token.  When they reach twenty-five miles total they earn a large foot token. All participants are invited to sign up for the KlaHaYa Beats  Kids 1 Mile
(see below for registration information for Kids and Adults) to complete their "Marathon", but it is not a requirement for the program.

Contact your student's PE teacher for more information.

Classroom Grants Awarded

Thanks to all our donors and especially those who gave during the 2015 Auction "Raise a Paddle" for Classroom Grants, the Snohomish Education Foundation was able to award 140 classroom grants totaling just over $68,000 for 2016.

"Classroom grants were awarded to each school in our district (K-12) and those funds will enhance the educational experience of many of the 9,800 students enrolled now and in years to come."  -  Steve Thomas, Chairman of the classroom grant committee
