Change of Plan - May 16-27

The Change of Plan web application will be available May 16 to 27, 2016.  Access the application beginning May 16.

Decisions on Program/Plan requests will be made in 10 to 15 business days. If you wish to request a change to your Program/Plan you must submit a request using the Change of Plan application. Change of Plan runs May 16-27 and again (Late Change of Plan) from June 13 - July 8. If your request is approved, your Program/Plan will be changed and can be viewed by clicking on the "My Academics" tab in the SOLUS student Centre. If your request is denied, you will be notified via email by Student Services to your @queensu.ca account.

The Personal Interest Credit - What course will you PIC?

In order to encourage students to explore subject matter outside their program of study and to promote interdisciplinary study, all upper-year Arts and Science students will be permitted to designate 6.0 units of degree-credit courses for pass/fail grading, thereby minimizing any risk to the students' GPA.  Such courses designated for pass/fail grading will be referred to as Personal Interest Credits (PIC's).

Effective for classes offered in Fall Term 2016, students have the option to designate degree-credit courses for pass/fail grading.

The Personal Interest Credit policy applies to all students who:
  • are registered in a Plan that will lead to completion of a degree program in the Faculty of Arts and Science;
  • have successfully completed a minimum of 24.0 units at Queen's; and
  • are in good academic standing (GPA of 1.60 and higher).
This policy applies to all courses offered by Departments in the Faculty of Arts and Science that are normally graded using a letter-grade system.

BISC Information Webinar

JOIN US for an Upper Year BISC information Webinar on May 16 between 5:30 and 6:30pm! RSVP here to receive and online invitation.

Our staff will do a short presentation about upper year living and learning opportunities at Queen's own Castle in East Sussex, England. After the presentation, you'll have the opportunity to ask questions.
The presentation will cover:
  • How you can use your Castle experience and courses towards your degree.
  • What a typical day/week looks like at the Castle.
  • Logistics of getting there, exploring Europe and applying.
Applications for the Fall 2016 (September 8 - December 14) and Winter 2017 (January 7 - April 12) are now open! The BISC offers a wide range of Queen's accredited courses in Art and Music, British Cultural Studies, Business and Economics, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Science.

Would you like to add a Certificate to your Program?

Queen's has a number of Certificates available to add to your Program.  Certificates provide students with the opportunity for new expanded credentials that can help:
  • students develop both general and specific skills that meet their particular career needs; and
  • address society's needs by preparing students appropriately for careers that they will pursue after leaving Queen's.
  • Learn more about the course requirements for the various Certificates offered by Queen's Faculty of Arts and Science.
Check our website periodically for more information about Certificates.
