This week we celebrate the Festival of Pentecost.  This day is a fulfillment of Jesus' promise to his disciples to send the Holy Spirit to call, gather, enlighten and equip his disciples to be his witnesses to the world.   Through Holy Baptism we have been given the Holy Spirit.  Through the Gospel, the Holy Spirit calls, gathers, enlightens and equips us to be Christ witnesses in the world.

LET'S MAKE SOME NOISE ... The Welcome Table at Skyland United Methodist Church is a part of Nativity's outreach to the community   on the 3rd Saturday of each month.  (Four other churches serve the other weekends.)  There are 48 people on our present volunteer list; that represents 23 families.  Guest attendance averages from 45 to 60, depending on weather, etc.  This Sunday's noisy offering will help pay for food supplies and table decor such as place mats, 3x5" "homemade" inspirational cards for guests to take home, and occasional special needs.

in May!

Dimitri Asaad and Miles Garner are scouts of BSA Troop 8 sponsored by Nativity. Dimitri and Miles completed recently two trailblazer projects. The trailblazer project, unique to Troop 8, is a precursor to the Eagle project required toward the eagle scout rank.

Miles organized and supervised a group of scouts and adults on April 23rd in applying a new coat of paint to the storage building near the preschool playground.

Dimitri supervised a group of scouts and adults on April 30th in designing, assembling and painting two well-constructed benches to be utilized by the fire pit adjacent to the modular building.

Thank you Miles and Dimitri on a job well done. Congratulations.
