Join Silent Heroes of the Cold War, in partnership with the US Forest Service and GO Mt Charleston in the site's first annual Memorial Day event. Spring Mountains Visitor Gateway is home to the nation's first National Memorial honoring the lives lost during the Cold War.
This free event includes raising of the flags, patriotic music, and tours of the Memorial with insight into the Cold War and the monument's fascinating origin.

Join Silent Heroes of the Cold War, in partnership with the US Forest Service and GO Mt Charleston, in the first annual Memorial Day event at the Spring Mountains Visitor Gateway, home to the nation's first National Monument honoring the lives lost during the Cold War. Activities throughout the day will include a raising of the flag by Boy Scout Color Guard, tours of the Memorial with insight into the Cold War and the monument's fascinating origin, and a Johnny Cash patriotic music tribute by Jimmy Ray & Cyndi Cantrell. The event is free, and guests are welcome to bring a picnic and chairs. Look for special guests and more details as the event approaches!
