May 11, 2016
The month of May is on fire in terms of wins for SJSV Chamber members.

We applaud Gov. Jerry Brown's decision to sign  Senate Bill 1142 , also known as the ADA "Right to Cure" bill, this week.

This bill, one we openly supported, will allow small business owners, many of whom are "mom-and-pop" businesses, a "right to cure" within 120 days any identified non-compliance of the Construction- Related Accessibility Standards Compliance Act or Federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), without penalty and without an expensive lawsuit being filed and attorney's fees being owed.

And the Defend Trade Secrets Act, also championed by the SJSV Chamber and aimed at protecting company's intellectual property, was signed into law today.

We recently announced our lineup of speakers for the 2016 Women in Leadership Luncheon on May 20, including NextEV CEO  Padmasree Warrior. Read all about it here . ... it's going to be a POWERFUL event!

Have you heard about San Jose's Measure B? Here's why we are voting YES in June.

And in case you hadn't heard yet, we have a new addition to the SJSV Chamber team! Read all about her below.

Make sure to stay in the loop on Chamber and Chamber member news every week by reading the eNews, logging on to our website  or following us on the social media channel of your choice .

Let's continue to make 2016 a dynamic year for business.
