The Most Important Transit Is The One Happening Right Now
The Traveler's Well Astrology
May 2016
Dear Friends,
at last, Mercury is direct again, which puts many at ease.  We did not receive too many panic notices so things must have gone more smoothly for most?!?!?

As many may relate to, for the third time, we need to move because our home is being sold.  As renters, this is always a risk.
Last month, we received our permanent residence visa, after 6 years, which means we can remain indefinitely in Germany if we wish (no change in citizenship required).  So, the search begins for a new home in Bavaria.
Since 2010, Munich has become unaffordable and, to navigate the rental market, you must be a magician.  The target at this moment is Bad Reichenhall in Bavaria, which is a spa town in the mountains on the Austrian border and will provide a more relaxed pace of life for us.  In southeastern Bavaria, our astrological energies do not change and that makes things easier.

At some point over the next 3 months, we will need to take an extended time off to support our relocation.  Just a heads up!  In the meantime, searching and searching....

In this newsletter, we are writing about a mutable T-Square between Jupiter in Virgo, Neptune in Pisces and Saturn in Sagittarius.  We are finding many client's charts to be impacted by this confusing transit that will last until mid-June.

Thank you again for sharing this journey with us!

Blessings and peace,

Jupiter in Virgo oppose Neptune in Pisces being squared by Saturn in Sagittarius
"A T-Square in mutable signs - oh my!"

This statement sounds a lot like the chant in the Wizard of Oz, "Lions and tigers and bears - oh my!"

We have received a significant increase in "updates" from readers of this newsletter suggesting that to some degree, they feel concerned, confused and uncertain of what action to take, just like Dorothy.   In this article, we will explore the challenging aspects of this new mutable T-Square and how we may experience confusion until we discover our inner navigator.

From May 15 to June 25, 2016, we will have a mutable T-square occurring in the heavens that will energize roughly 8 to 17 degrees of all four mutable signs:
  • Jupiter in Virgo opposes Neptune in Pisces
  • Saturn Retrograde in Sagittarius squares both Jupiter and Neptune and completes the T-square
The lead up to this transit, I believe, is being felt by many. Many chart formations are impacted by this transit and, as always, only your individual chart dictates how you will experience any transit.

For all of us, this T-Square will hit our chart where you have mutable signs and particularly if you have planets in your birth chart between the degrees of 8 to 17 of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces. Here are a few groups who may experience this transit more strongly:
  • For those born in 1963 to about 1966, this transit will be impacting your Uranus and Pluto conjunction in Virgo.
  • For those born in 1965, you can add Saturn to this mix.
  • For those born in 1969 to 1970, this transit will be taking place on your North and South Nodes.
  • Those whose Sun is at the mid-degrees of Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces or Gemini, this transit will impact your Sun (May 29 to June 8; August 30 to September 10; November 30 to December 9; or February 27 to March 8).
This transit begins with the Moon conjunct Jupiter and ends with the Moon conjunct Neptune. The book-end of the Moon will bring emotional awareness and attention to this transit as it begins and ends. This emotional connection acts as a trigger and can act to ground your feelings into this transit.

All transits represent an on-going flow or motion of the planets that support our unfolding journey. This transit is a natural unfolding of topics we wrote about in past newsletters: November 2015 and January 2016. You may want to check those out again as well. Newsletter Archive

Jupiter & Neptune - Making It Galactic!

Jupiter likes things BIG. Neptune likes things BIGGER.

The Equation for Jupiter oppose Neptune might be: Big + Bigger = Galactic.

During this transit, a sudden realization of the galactic nature of aspects of life might come flooding forward. Something has become outsized so to speak. But what? This transit presents the potential for really big temptation related to our really big visions, inspirations and dreams.

We might find that we want to believe in too much magic, to believe that we can do anything, to believe that it is NOT important to think about the details, to believe that we can ignore reality during this time.

As a result, with this transit operating in the background, life might feel a bit confusing as we wonder what to do with this energy as Saturn taps us on the shoulder and hands us a bit of a test.

Saturn - Making It Real!

Saturn demands reality and he is squaring this Jupiter and Neptune opposition. Galactic inspirations? Please, let me introduce you to reality!

Saturn is asking that we consider the foundations and structures of our world and how they support our visions and inspirations that seem oversized right now. This is when we get a bit more confused and begin the process of questioning our path.

Breaking It Down

If you chart is directly impacted, you may be questioning your path, you may be seeking the freedom to surrender, you may be questioning your dreams and visions. You might feel like your vision is becoming a dream that is beyond your reach or you don't know how to implement your visions in a practical way. It might feel like there is too much to do and too little time to get it all done. Or, it might feel like things are becoming less clear and you wonder if you have strayed from your path.

You might feel like something is not working, but it is not clear what is not working.

For those who are not directly impacted, but if you are working on a major project of any kind during this time, you can have a similar set of experiences where you might feel frustrated or blocked.

If you experience confusion, then this transit is probably impacting you and that means adjustment is required.

This T-square has been creating agitation for many and the level of adjustment required is not small. We are talking about big demands for adjustments that can be life changing! Again, going back to the articles from November 2015 and January 2016 might be helpful.

But, what adjustments are the right ones and what exactly is the problem anyway? Is there really a problem or am I just imagining it? The mutable nature of this transit makes it difficult to understand.

Mutability - The Whirling Possibility Machine

Mutable T-Squares are NOT like a Cardinal or Fixed T-Square. In Cardinal signs, you feel a tension to take action and make an adjustment and you know it. It is clear to see and you know what to do. In Fixed signs, there is tension to actually get started or a need to overcome denial that a problem exists, but once you do, you will stay focused on your task because it is obvious. As you take the action, it feels right. Adjustment complete!

Alternatively, a Mutable T-Square just might not be sure about anything. One of the qualities of mutable signs is that they support recognizing that there are possibilities and options, but mutable signs are not strong on deciding which of these possibilities is the right solution and this can be very confusing.

Is there is a problem? Is there a root cause? Is there a solution? How many solutions might there be? In a Mutable T-Square, these thoughts and questions can become a "Whirling Possibility Machine".

What is a "Whirling Possibility Machine"? It is a state of mind where countless possibilities are floating and whirling around you and it is really difficult to eliminate the unhelpful ideas and focus on the helpful ones. With the "Whirling Possibility Machine", it seems like there is always a chance that any one of these ideas just might be the right one. Unlike Cardinal and Fixed signs, Mutable signs are open to alternatives, but that same openness can make it hard to make a decision.

Discovery

This lack of clarity produces a wavering quality or some anxiety. You feel it, but it is hard to get your arms around it. You must discover it. Your discovery might be supported by talking with a mentor, an advisor, a friend or partner. Getting feedback from another source can be valuable input that helps to you to discover the source of your tension.

When you do discover the source, the mutable signs will support your adjustments and act as navigator because they are flexible and curious to help you pursue the adjustments you need to make. This will not be a straight forward navigation: follow this line until you get to the X that marks the spot. This navigation will be more subtle it will be like fine tuning. The adjustments will be just as mutable as the process of discovering the solution: press this button, flip that switch, adjust this nob, upload new software, just buy a new computer, etc. Each adjustment will lead to a greater understanding of the problem and root causes and you will feel better.

The important planets involved mean that this time of adjustment and navigation might well serve as an introduction to a new approach to life that will support the further unfolding of our soul's happiness and joy! This is a time to pay attention to patterns and habits and allow what is taking place to flow over you and lead to greater understanding!

Solar Eclipses

The last two Solar Eclipses have also been hitting the points of the zodiac where Jupiter and Neptune are in this T-Square.
  • In September 2015 and September 2016, the Solar Eclipse energized 20 Virgo and 9 Virgo.
  • In March 2016, the Solar Eclipse energized 18 Pisces.

You can think of a Solar Eclipse as life pushing a burst of energy into your birth chart and into your life. Transits that hit the spot of recent eclipses are often like triggers, releasing the energy of the Solar Eclipse.

Both a Solar Eclipse and a T-Square have an intention connected to energy and the use of energy in our lives:
  • A T-Square builds tension so that the tension can be released and resolved.
  • A Solar Eclipse is a burst of energy that wants to be employed to push you forward on the souls journey.

Awareness, Adjustment and Action

There are a few themes with a Solar Eclipse and a T-Square that actually work together on the soul's journey.

Awareness

When we feel confusion, anxiety or irritation, it is a message from the soul that something requires our attention. Transiting planets take no joy in making us feel uncomfortable, but they have a job to do - to get our attention! The first step to solving a problem is to become aware that something is amiss.

Adjustment

We use the awareness we gained to recognize that there is something we can do about it. Particularly with mutable signs, given that they are not rigid, we can make the adjustments. With mutable signs there might be a bit of "try this" and then "try that". Mutable energies are great for solving problems that are not obvious that require a bit of trial and error. Don't worry, give it a try!

Action

A T-Square is a build-up of tension that requires taking action to release the tension and solve the problem. We have the ability to break through old barriers and old patterns of doing things that are sometimes unhelpful to our cause or goal.  Allow your actions to be filled with love and light!

Taken together, a T-Sq uare and a Solar Eclipse are messages from life, which are sometimes uncomfortable, but messages that we can break through old barriers, to make progress and move forward on the journey of the soul. The keys are to gain awareness, explore adjustments and then to take action - with confidence!

Photos From Our Bavarian Adventures
Each year, we anxiously await for the babies of our two island swans to emerge from the nest.  After a bumper crop of 8 last year, we have 6 lovelies this year.

Chestnut trees are everywhere in Bavaria.  They are connected with the tradition of brewing beer as beer was kept cool under chestnut trees prior to refrigeration!  We particularly enjoy the pink blossoms!

We also love 'Glory of the Snow' season, which is a time in early Spring when these delightful blue star flowers bloom.  You have to be in the right place at the right time to enjoy them as they don't hang around too long.  We were blessed on this day!
Dandelions also have a season here and are celebrated.  Since they do not have 'lawns' here, but rather a mixture of flower varieties and grasses.  Each lawn is essentially a blooming carpet of wild flowers that change continually throughout the season.  These flowering carpets are only mowed maybe 8 to 10 times each season.  Dandelions have their season and then they fade into the background as other flowers take over!
