                                                                  21st May 2016

Dear Parents,

By now you should have received your link to the questionnaire about our inspection on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.  We are all ready to welcome our three inspectors and hope that you will take the opportunity to fill in the questionnaire before it closes on Monday evening at 6.00 pm.

It was good to see so many of you at our first Teatime Concert on Thursday and what an evening it was!  We were so proud of all the performers who were so confident, many of them performing for the first time.  The orchestra's debut was wonderful thanks to our conductor, Ms Falvey, whose creative slant on ensuring that everyone was involved, even those who had only just started their musical journeys, was inspired!  The choir sounded confident and melodic and a great time was had by all.  We shall be adding a Teatime Concert to our termly calendar.  A note for your diary - Tuesday 5th July the choir will be involved in 'Sounds from the Stadium' at St Mary's along with 3,500 others - what an amazing opportunity for our musicians.  A separate letter outlining arrangements and tickets for parents will be sent out soon.

Following our exam and assessment week, we will be emailing a summary of your children's results on Friday before half term with the exception of the Form 6 SATs results which will be formally received on Tuesday 5th July.

Our Form 6 children enjoyed their 'Post SATs' treat at Rock Up where they challenged themselves to climb higher than they thought possible.  We then enjoyed a picnic on the farm followed by a bracing beach walk which included 'cuttle fish' races - a St Winifred's version of 'Pooh sticks'!

After our renovations in the kitchen, we have only just returned to our three weekly menu cycle.  Some of the children have changed their original choices and if you require further information, please contact the office.

Just a quick reminder about Sainsbury's vouchers - if you have any tucked away at home, please bring them in as we need to count them and then submit our order.  Many thanks.

Looking forward - after half term we have our Summer Fete on Saturday 11th June from 12.30 - 2.30pm.  If you can help on the day please let the office know.  We will send out a separate letter requesting the usual items - cakes, books, tombola prizes etc and we thank you for your support with this.

Have a good weekend.
Best wishes  Jan Caddy

This week's theme in Preschool is 'Growth in Humans'. We will be talking to the children about members of their family and thinking about what they could do as a baby and what they can do now. Please could your child bring a baby photo to school next week so we can talk about how much they have grown!
