International Yoga Day June 21st

International Yoga Day  is celebrated annually on June 21 and was declared to be internationally recognized by the  United Nations  General Assembly  (UNGA) on December 11, 2014.    The  Indian Prime Minister   Narendra Modi  in his UN Address suggested the date of June 21, as it is the  longest day of the year  in the  Northern Hemisphere  and shares special significance in many parts of the world.

"Yoga embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfilment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and with nature."
- Prime Minister Narenda Modi of India

This year Kelowna Yoga House is participating in a large Outdoor Event on Tuesday, June 21st in Stuart Park.  Details Coming Soon!
We encourage all of our Members to participate and join us for Yoga in the Park.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
  • Artwork Committee:
We are in need of 1-2 people to co-ordinate Artwork and Photos of Guruji to display on our welcoming walls of the reception area and front entrance.
  • Photographer/Videographer:  We are in need of updated photos of our new garden, and general class/workshop photos. Also, KYH has a Youtube Channel which would love some new content added.
If you are interested in any of these volunteer opportunities to enrich Kelowna Yoga House, please speak to any Teacher.  Thank You!

Work Exchange Yogis Needed

Our regular work exchange yogi who does most of the cleaning at KYH has decided to take July and August off, and plans to resume cleaning in September. As a result, we are in great need of other yogis who would like to help out KYH and benefit from an arrangement with work exchange for yoga classes.

We will consider students who have an established relationship (eg, 3 months with KYH), rather than newcomers to the studio.

If you are interested please contact Dianne Kapty via email: [email protected]
