$500 OFF!

Have you noticed that Gary has kept the $500 off Standard Laminated & Hybrid basses in place?  With fast lead times...you could be playing an Upton faster than you think!

Upton Bass is excited to highlight the new book Ray Brown: Legendary Jazz Bassist, by our friend Matthew Rybicki. As long as Upton Bass has been selling basses, we've been friends with Matthew. Whether playing Jazz at the Lincoln Center, performing a sonata, or a conventional jazz gig: Matthew loves the big sound, playability, and flexibility that comes from his Upton Bass Hybrid.

Give Gary or myself a call and lets talk about your next bass (or cello!).  We love what we do, and we'd love to do it for you!

Our good friend Matthew Rybicki compiled this awesome book that includes note-for-note transcriptions of 18 classic Ray Brown performances, as well as great biographical and historical information relating to the songs he's chosen. He put together this video for us, and we hope that you enjoy it as much as we do.

Matthew is an artist/instructor for Jazz at the Lincoln Center, and maintains an active performing schedule. He has worked with Wynton Marsalis, Laurence Hobgood, and countless others. Matthew studied at the Berklee College of Music and The Juilliard School.
