Holocaust Remembrance with the California State Assembly
LAMOTH traveled to Sacramento
for the California State Assembly's Holocaust Remembrance Ceremony. Samara Hutman gave the keynote address and Holocaust Survivor Michele Rodri was honored by the Assembly. The LAMOTH exhibit Survivors and What They Carry was displayed at the California Legislative Jewish Caucus brunch before the ceremony.

Shalhevet High School at LAMOTH
LAMOTH welcomed the senior class of Shalhevet High School for a customized tour with Museum Audio Guides. This past semester, Shalhevet students participated in the LAMOTH L'Dorot Fellowship where they examined artifacts from the Museum Archive and engaged in in-depth learning. The Fellows introduced their classmates to the primary sources they researched. Following their tour, the students listened to Survivor Eva Nathanson, who shared her personal narrative and the importance of memory and community.

LAMOTH at Burbank High School
On Friday, May 13, Holocaust Survivors Peter Daniels and Mary Bauer (pictured above) traveled to Burbank High School for the school's Holocaust Remembrance Program. Peter and Mary spoke to approximately six hundred students, many of whom had never heard a first-hand narrative of a Holocaust Survivor.

Northern Nevada Holocaust Education Conference
LAMOTH Board Member and docent Michele Gold attended the Northern Nevada Holocaust Education Conference, presented by The Governor's Advisory Council on Education Relating to the Holocaust, in Reno, Nevada. Michele conducted two forty-five minute educational sessions and reached approximately 220 students and teachers.

Fritz Bauer was the Attorney General portrayed in "Labyrinth of Lies." This is the story that led up to the Frankfurt Auschwitz Trials.

SURVIVOR SPEAKER SERIES
Yona Nadelman
Sunday, May 22, at 2:00pm
Yona was five years old when Nazi Germany invaded her native Krakow, Poland. Soon after the invasion, she fled eastward with her parents and extended family. While her parents continued toward Siberia, Yona was left in the care of her grandparents. When Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union in 1941, her grandparents secured her false papers. She lived on a farm under this false identity for the duration of the war. After being reunited with her parents, Yona lived in Paris and eventually settled in Los Angeles where she worked as a fashion designer.
A docent-led tour of the Museum will immediately follow.
