WE PROVIDE SUSTAINABLE LANDSCAPE SOLUTIONS
Last Wednesday, 6 of our managers attended a training seminar at Willamette University titled   Managing Weeds, Disease and Pests Organically put on by the Pacific Northwest Coalition of OLC Professionals , formerly   Oregon Tilth Organic Landcare Practitioners Program.

We occasionally receive interest in organic landscape management and do provide for a few clients. Although "organics" is becoming more commonplace in the consumer market, with the growth of the personal health and sustainable movement, full organic landscape management is challenging and requires greater cost along with a certain acceptance of weeds and pests. Although we do not provide 100% organic landscape maintenance within our general program, we continue to educate ourselves on the subject and implement those practices that assist our reduction in chemicals and synthetic fertilizers petroleum and energy within our operation.

To put ourselves on the cutting edge of the  sustainable landscape movement, we have attend many training programs and become certified in all appropriate programs. We are Certified EcoBiz by the City of Portland, WaterSense certified by the EPA, Organic Landcare Practitioner certified by Oregon Tilth, and have been ranked one or the Best Green Companies by Oregon business for 6 years.  We call this Sustainable Landscape Solutions

Our Sustainable Landscape Solutions has manifested in:
  • *       Incorporating organics into our fertilizers
  • *       Reduced herbicide use utilizing IPM
  • *       Promoting new irrigation efficient technology
  • *       Converting to new low emission equipment
  • *       Improving fuel economy of fleet
  • *       Experimenting with new technologies & techniques.
  • *       Practicing what we preach.  Doing it at home.
We at Pacific Landscape Management are committed to be environmental stewards as love for the environment is what attracted us to the industry.  We are proud to help enhance the quality of life in our community through maintaining healthy landscape environments.  Healthy landscape provides many environmental benefits.  Healthy plants actually reduce CO2, reduce urban heat gain, and absorb and clean storm water.  On the  flip-side , landscape maintenance practices can have a negative impact.  Although we have always considered ourselves environmentally responsible, the increased requests from our customers for sustainable landscaping practices has motivated us to a new level.   Our efforts over the past several years were rewarded by being named one of the 100 greenest companies by Oregon Business Magazine 6 years running.

Whether full organics is you goal or if you just want to know that your landscape partner is helping with your companies or facilities sustainability goals, Pacific Landscape Management is here to support you with our Sustainable Landscape Solutions.
