Steps to reduce waste and optimize productivity
Are you trying to get organized in your office, shop or kitchen? You will need two things: a laminator and a label maker. And make sure you buy plenty of laminating sheets and label tape because once you get started there will be no stopping you!
At Total Table, we have been trying to practice the very basic first steps of the 5 S's of Lean Manufacturing which is a system to reduce waste and optimize productivity through maintaining an orderly workplace. The 5 S's are: Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize and Sustain. From a practical point of view the last one is the hardest to do. It is not "one and done" but a never ending practice of continuing improvement.
