Senior Capstone Showcase Friday, May 20, 2016

PASADENA, CA - The first class to graduate from the Pasadena Educational Foundation supported App Academy at Pasadena High School will be holding a Senior Capstone Showcase on Friday, May 20, 2016 from 10:30 A.M. - 12:30 P.M. The App Academy at Pasadena High School is an innovative four-year high school program in the Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) where students learn computer science through mobile, web, and game development.

The showcase will feature final projects that seniors have been working on for five months, varying from a first-person horror adventure game, a city cost-of-living comparison web application, and an R2D2-style articulating mobile robot.

Curriculum content for the four-year program is based on cutting-edge industry and research practices and is approved by the UCOP (University of California Office of the President). Computer science courses are focused on teaching the in-demand skills and languages of top companies such as Google, Apple, and Facebook. Classes are designed to teach topics and skills through engaging, rigorous projects that mirror industry products or applications

Media are invited to join students, teachers, curriculum developers, PUSD and PEF staff at the 2016 App Academy Senior Capstone Showcase to celebrate the inaugural class's achievements and experience the culmination of their 4 years in the academy.
