#CalBearsSayHi

Social support is all-important to our health and success. People with friends and acquaintances are happier and healthier. The #CalBearsSayHi campaign is here to help us feel more connected to each other here at Cal. It invites us to slow down a bit and notice and acknowledge those around us.

Tips: Just get started with a simple greeting: "Hi, I'm ____." Learn names! That becomes an immediate connection and makes for smoother conversations in the future. Read more tips.

Resources: Look for "Random Acts of Friendliness" on campus this year; follow the Tang Center's Love Caf at Cal tumblr blog for all relationship concerns; and follow the #CalBearsSayHi hashtag for more social content.

Back to School, Safe and Sexy
It's August. You know what that means - back to school for students! For some students it's back to the same school with friends you have known for quite a while. For others it's time to start a new chapter at a new school! I have been in both positions many times in my life, however, I have found myself in the latter position more often. As a new person on campus you may feel a little awkward and out of your element. Rest assured you are not the only one feeling a little awkward and alone. While I have not yet figured out the perfect algorithm for making friends and/or finding the best partner, I am happy to offer a few sexy tips to help you with such a quest in a recent #SexySaturdays post: Back to School Safe and Sexy...

XOXO, Ms. Robin, the Sex Goddess

berkeley ship
Berkeley SHIP 2014-15 began August 15
As a registered student at Cal, you have an outstanding health plan available designed specifically for college students. Berkeley Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) is a comprehensive major medical insurance plan, providing medical, counseling and prescription through Aetna Student Health, vision through VSP and dental services through MetLife. Learn more about how to use SHIP here.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Are you still waiting on your waiver appeal decision? Waiver criteria has recently been changed - read more here. Based on the high number of waiver appeals as a result of insurance information not being entered correctly on the online waiver application and the recent waiver criteria changes, we are currently experiencing a 30-45 day wait for waiver appeal decisions. We understand families want to know the status, and we are working diligently to clear all of the final appeals.
