Empty Bowls Fundraiser
You are cordially invited to a community Empty Bowls event during the Evening of Excellence on Wednesday, May 25th from 6:00 - 7:50pm in the cafeteria of Oakland Mills Middle School.  The event is a collaboration between Stevens Forest Elementary School, Oakland Mills High School and Oakland Mills Middle School.  Empty Bowls is an opportunity to support Grassroots, a crisis intervention center and homeless shelter. In return for your $5 suggested donation, you get to enjoy a bowl of pasta salad made by our OMMS FACS students, and receive a handcrafted ceramic bowl or ceramic pendant made by students from SFES and OMMS.  This year, all 6th grade OMMS students created a pendant as part of their service learning project. Last year, we were able to raise over $700 for Grassroots.  We're hoping we can beat that amount in 2016!
