Welcome to Muddy Dog Roasting Company!

CLASSIC COFFEE

It is VERY RARE that we have an espresso on sale.  We had an overwhelming number of orders for Classic Italian Espresso earlier this week and have too much in stock.  NOTE:  The espresso is several days old, HOWEVER it is still at it's prime.  We cannot honor any requests for newly roasted Classic Italian Espresso because we already have way too much!  Take advantage of this limited time offer!!

Tasting Notes:

Pungent, heavy crema. Lingering aftertaste of chocolate and leather. Stands up well to milk for milk-based espresso drinks.

Tasting Notes:

Bold flavor with heavy mouthfeel. Rich with discreet, low key smoky note and hints of chocolate and raisin.

The Backstory:

This is the quintessential French Roast... African beans, carefully sourced, and roasted dark. Nuances of baked chocolate and dark fruits are enhanced with low-key smokey notes of leather and pipe tobacco.
This coffee is great via many different prep methods, but in our opinions is one the best press pot coffees ever.

Traditional Cafe Au Lait:

Brew some strong coffee (60 grams per liter).  Scald some milk lightly in a saucepan.  Mix 50% strong brewed coffee and 50% scalded milk for the quintessential cafe au lait.

Happy Thursday!

This is a week of classics:  Classic Italian Espresso and Classic French Roast.  These two classics go way back to the beginning of Muddy Dog.  Starting out, back in 2007, we had a limited number of coffee/espresso on our shelves.  In fact, the Classic Italian Espresso was our ONLY espresso at the time!  My how times have changed!  Take advantage of our espresso discount since it happens so rarely.  Roast date is important, especially for espresso, but the Classic Italian is still well within the range of being considered fresh.

For our dark coffee lovers, the Classic French Roast is one of our darkest coffees we roast (2nd only to our Halloween Blend, which you need to wait until October for).  So, in the meantime, grab a bag or two because this is one coffee we don't roast too often.  Be sure to try out the Traditional Cafe Au Lait in the description above.

OK, we've talked about the classics; time to move on to the new.  We did, in fact, receive a new shipment of coffee late last week.  For all of you who are asking, the coffee we got in is variations of coffees we've already had in stock.  Give us a couple of weeks to unload, sort and taste them.  Once that is done, we will list the new coffee on the website and in the newsletter.  Thanks for your patience.

We will be taking a quick trip out of town (Sunday-Tuesday), however, that should not impact local customers.  We WILL be at both farmers markets this weekend and we should be open on Tuesday for walk-in customers.  If you do stop by, say hi to our newest member, Madeline.  That being said, Madi can help you with your in-store purchase.  Any coffee that is ordered online will be roasted and processed upon our return.

Have a wonderful week!
Debbie and Jim
