Calling generations of all nations to the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ!
Lake Bible Men's Summit

On April 23, Mike was invited to speak at a Men's Summit hosted by Lake Bible Church in Lake Oswego, OR. Over the course of three sessions, Mike challenged the 50 men in attendance to see themselves the way God sees them: as strategic leaders, a brotherhood of fellowship, and teachers to the next generation.

Session 1 focused on the strategic priority of ministry to men, emphasizing that men are divinely appointed leaders at home and in the church with significant influence - for good or bad.

In session 2, the men came to understand biblical fellowship
(Greek: koinonia), being reminded that in Christ they are a brotherhood. They share together a common union in Christ a belonging to one another, each having a responsibility to the others. In addition, they are to share with one another what they have received from God spiritually, materially, and emotionally.

In the final session, the men saw the divine vision from Psalm 78 that men are teachers who must be listening and knowing the testimony and commands of the Lord "that they should teach them to their children, that the generation to come might know, even the children yet to be born, that they may arise and tell them to their children, that they should put their confidence in God. . . " (Ps. 78:5-7).

NW Baptist Student Conference Breakouts (April 29-30)

A person is never too far from God that His grace, through the crucified and resurrected Jesus, can't make him new.

Saul of Tarsus was a first century genocidal man - persecutor of Christ and followers of Jesus - who became Paul the Apostle. The power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead is the same power that transformed Saul and
qualified him to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light ( Col. 1:12).

Saul was born around 5AD and attended school in Jerusalem from the time of his youth as a student of the Pharisee Gamaliel.   Saul was about the same age as Jesus, living during the same time as Jesus' life and earthly ministry. It is probable that Saul may have been among the Pharisees that had various encounters with Jesus during His ministry.

But, it would be the encounter with the resurrected Jesus that would humble him, leading to saving faith and transforming him from murderer to missionary. God's grace is new life in Jesus Christ! Saul's life story was studied by 96 students during Mike's breakout sessions at the NWBC student conference.
