The focus of this gathering is to connect incoming and outgoing student leaders to share their experience with leadership, build community, encourage collaboration among LGBTQIA organizations at UCSD, and foster leadership development. It's also open for people interested in starting organizations next year. Free food will be provided.

Please join the UC San Diego LGBT community as we come together to honor the students who are graduating, our volunteers, our scholarship recipients and all who have impacted our community over the last year.
The event serves as the formal induction of the graduates into the family of the UC San Diego LGBT Alumni. Although many people do get dressed up for the event, it tends to be a queer little get together, with all the trappings of our community, so be yourself.

The Trans Group is an intern-moderated gathering for transgender-identified individuals to have a designation place that is exclusively for trans people. It's a closed space. The new hours will allow for longer meetings, with more time to deeply delve into discussions or activities.

We're open to any medium, from paintings, doodles, prints, poetry, stories, zines, comics, film, animation, music, to 3-D art pieces. Be sure to keep the values of our space in mind when submitting your art work: Family, Community, Respect, and Social Justice.
Keep in mind displaying some of these may require creativity; discuss with Fri to figure out how to best display it.

Are you looking for an accessible, affordable way to de-stress? Come join our class for a warm welcoming introduction to yoga as therapeutic practice! Each class includes restorative yoga movement and meditation. No special clothing, equipment, or experience is required. Bring your own yoga mat or towel and wear comfortable clothing.

ArtPower and the LGBT Resource Center present this workshop with renowned Israeli choreographer Idan Cohen to explore the
intersection of identity/gender and how it is expressed in dance. No dance experience necessary!
Idan Cohen's dance work Gender Bender (being presented at ArtPower on May 20) incorporates images that reflect personal and social identities of masculinity, femininity and all that lies between.

CASP Intern Applications Deadline: May 19th, 2016 Employment Dates: July 25-30, 2016
Summer Interns will co-lead participants through the duration of CASP 101, an overnight retreat program offered to new UCSD Chancellor's Associates Scholars. The position is paid, and room and board are covered. Two lead interns will be hired in addition to regular summer interns. The lead interns will assist in planning beforehand.

Come listen to Laura Fenamore, as she presents her new book, Skinny, Fat, Perfect: Love Who You See in the Mirror. The book is part memoir, part self-help, and it discusses her struggles with addiction, obesity, and eating disorders. Fenamore will be talking about becoming free from the diet mentality, loving yourself, and being healthy. She will also be discussing how this intersects with her identity as a lesbian, and with her depression. There will also be a Q&A and book signing.

A collective of UCSD grads have created these surveys in an attempt to make your experiences, issues, ideas and needs heard by both fellow grads and the UCSD staff.
Please help offer an understanding of the UCSD graduate experience and campus climate through your responses regarding issues you face on campus, specifically as it relates to racial and/or gender identity. Your responses will help make a clear case for institutional reflection and change.

6th Annual UCSD Powwow May 21st & 22nd, 2016 Warren Field
The Native American Student Alliance at UCSD presents the annual powwow! Powwows began mainly as religious ceremonies to gain wisdom from and give thanks to the Creator. Though many of today's powwows have evolved into social and contest-oriented dances; religious and ceremonial dances are still performed. Each session of a powwow begins with a Grand Entry. This is a procession of all the dancers entering the dance arena. Leading the procession into the arena are veterans bearing an Eagle Staff, the American flag, various Indian Nation flags and any other flags that are being displayed.

GAPA Foundation Scholarships Open Deadlines: June 30th, 2016
The Gay Asian Pacific Alliance Foundation is a grassroots philanthropic organization that provides funds and leverages resources to empower the Asian/Pacific Islander LGBTQ community. The 2016 GAPA Foundation Scholarship awards several scholarships of up to $3000 to students who have demonstrated outstanding activism and leadership within the API LGBTQ community.

Study Abroad Advising with Andra Jacques

Andra Jacques is the Study Abroad Coordinator at UCSD. She recruits for and advises students on education abroad opportunities with a special emphasis on UCSD Global Seminars and diversity outreach.
Andra graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University with a B.A. in International Studies with a Peace Studies concentration. During her undergrad, she studied abroad in Siracusa, Sicily and has since traveled throughout Europe, Central America and Africa. Some of her most impactful experiences abroad have been performing on-site coordination for a faculty-led program for two summers in rural Akatsi, Ghana.

Éxito! Latino Cancer Training
Éxito! will select 25 master's-level students and professionals-like Jimenez and Berrios-from across the nation to attend a five-day summer institute June 6-10, 2016, in San Antonio, offering research information, tools, tips, role models and motivation to encourage participants to pursue a doctoral degree and a career studying how cancer affects Latinos differently.

Academic Writers on LGBTQ Topics Needed
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Americans at Risk: Problems and Solutions will be a 3-volume reference on LGBTQI history, politics, law, and culture in the US. Each contributor will write an essay of around 8,000 words on their choice of topics. This project is open to all writers.

Trans* Studies: an international transdisciplinary conference on gender, embodiment, and sexuality Sept. 7-10th, 2016
This is an academic conference for any work relating to transgender issues, showcasing work in various fields. there will be panels and opportunities to meet in small groups. Submissions and proposals are welcome; please first submit 250 abstracts of proposed papers as well as a one-paragraph author's biography.

An ongoing education and social support group for HIV-positive men who have sex with men. Learn to be positive about being HIV-positive. Be empowered, share, and grow with other men who can relate to your journey.
Topics include living with HIV,
healthy relationships, sexual health, self esteem, normalizing conversations about sex, and self-disclosure (telling family, friends, and partners).

Young Women's Discussion Group Third Tuesday of each month 3909 Centre Street, San Diego, CA 92103
This group is aimed at young women ages 18-30. We will discuss issues relevant such as politics, academics, careers, relationships, social media, pop culture, activism and ways to be involved in the LGBT community. We hope to provide a safe and comfortable place to meet and share experiences as members of the LGBT community.

A San Diego team recently launched a new iOS app called TUTUroomii. This app is designed to help LGBTQ+ young people and allies find ideal roommates in their own community. This app is available in the App Store.
