Love Fullerton a Huge Success
More than 2,000 items were collected by 20 volunteers during the Love Fullerton event on Saturday, April 30. The collection supported the Fullerton College Chris Lamm and Toni DuBois Memorial Food Bank, which provides basic necessities to students in need. Hundreds of volunteers gathered on the quad afterward for the Love Our Cities afternoon barbecue. View photos from the event on

Student-Parents Luncheon Set For Friday
The CalWORKs and CARE programs are preparing for their annual Student-Parents Recognition Luncheon, which will be Friday, May 13 in the Fullerton College Historic Court Yard (800B). The focus of the luncheon is to celebrate the successes and acknowledge the daily struggles student-parents face in order to complete their education, achieve self-sufficiency and create a brighter future for their children.

Veteran Mural Honors WWII Vets from OC
The campus community is invited to a formal lecture presentation by the artist of a mural that respects and honors WWII veterans from Orange County. Painted by Carlos Aguilar and sponsored by the Ethnic Studies Department, this two-story mural is located in Santa Ana off the corner of Washington Avenue and Custer Street on 906 E. Washington Avenue in Santa Ana. The event is on Friday, May 13 at 10 a.m.

President's Open Forum
In an effort to encourage communication and strengthen teamwork across campus, President Greg Schulz has scheduled a series of Open Forums. All faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to attend. The next open forum is on Monday, May 16 at 2 p.m. in Room 224.

The Fullerton College Fashion Department is hosting a Digital Fashion Event on Thursday, May 12 from 3:45 to 5:30 p.m. in Building 500, Room 515.
Snyder Recommended for Fulbright Specialist Roster
Fullerton College Faculty Dr. Pete Snyder has been recommended for placement on the Fulbright Specialist Roster. This roster is made up of candidates who are eligible to be matched with incoming project requests from overseas academic institutions as part of the Council for International Exchange of Scholars. The Fulbright Specialist Program links scholars from the United States to host institutions overseas for short-term programs.

The Fullerton College Art Gallery Student Art Exhibition 2016 will be on display through May 18, 2016. Admission is free to the public, so come see the excellence of our student artists! Many works are available for purchase.
Fullerton College Electronic Music Ensemble will present an eclectic mix of different genres of electronic music from the past century as well as cutting-edge popular and avant-garde genres of electronic and ambient music.
The Fullerton College Percussion Ensemble will perform in the FC Recital Hall. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children and $7 for seniors and students.
The Men's and Women's Chorales of Fullerton College will present a variety of choral literature, including classical, folks songs, spiritual, musical theatre and barbershop.
Two plays by Tom Stoppard were written to be performed together. In
Dogg's Hamlet the actors speaking a language called Dogg, which consists of English words but have different meanings.
Cahoot's Macbeth is a shortened performance of
Macbeth under the eyes of a secret police officer who suspects the actors and audience of violating censorship rules.

Baseball
Fullerton won the first round of the SoCal Regionals against the Vaqueros in two games. In game one on Friday, the Hornets and Vaqueros battled it out for 13 innings with FC coming out on top 4-3. In game two on Saturday, Fullerton managed a late 3-2 come-from-behind victory advancing the Hornets to the second round of the SoCal Regional Playoffs.
Up Next: The second round of the Southern California Regional Playoffs against Cypress College. The first game of the best-of-the-three series will be on Friday, May 13 at 2 p.m. Game two will be on the following Saturday at noon. If needed, game three will be on Sunday at noon.
Softball
After falling to El Camino College in the first game of the SoCal Regionals, the Hornets capped off the weekend with two consecutive wins over the Warriors advancing to the Super Regionals. FC opened up the series with a 3-2 loss on Saturday. On Sunday, Fullerton had to win the next to games to advance, and they managed to do just that beating El Camino in dramatic fashion 9-3 and 7-6.

Swimming and Diving
The Hornets represented well at the 2016 State Championships at East Los Angeles College over the weekend. Gabriela Garcia finished 15th in the women's 100 Freestyle with a time of 55.68. In the 400 Freestyle Relay, the team of Alicia Tully, Summer Sota, Erika McFeggan and Gabriela Garcia placed 14th overall with a time of 3:47.91. Orange Coast College wound up taking the title on the women's side, while Sierra College won it all for the men.
Women's Track and Field
The Hornets took a trip to Antelope Valley College on Saturday for the Southern California Regional Championships. This meet was a prelim round to qualify to the SoCal Regional finals next Saturday, May 14.
