 EBCBOR volunteers help paint and refurbish home in Hackensack

The Eastern Bergen County Board of Realtors (EBCBOR), a Sponsor of the 2016 National Rebuilding Day, participated in a community project with Rebuilding Together Bergen County April 30th, National Rebuilding Day. Volunteers came together to help paint and refurbish a home in Hackensack, NJ. The EBCBOR team was led by Janet Ginsberg & Hilda Williams, Chair & Co-Chair of the EBCBOR Community Service Committee, and Project Coordinators EBCBOR members Lisa Fox & Alicia Pugh.

Bergen County budget reviews shows new trucks, voting machines account for some cost hikes

New trucks for snow removal, upgraded voting machines and background checks for school-bus drivers are behind some of the cost increases in the county budget, members of the Board of Freeholders learned Tuesday during departmental hearings on the proposed spending plan for 2016.

Projects ramping up around the GWB

In the next three months, the Port Authority will start a $112.6 million project to demolish and reconstruct the ramp from the Palisades Interstate Parkway to the George Washington Bridge and rehabilitate two sections of the New Jersey approach to the span. READ MORE

2016 Flood Insurance Rates

On April 28, 2016, the U.S. House of Representatives unanimously voted 419-0 for the Flood Insurance Market Modernization Act, H.R. 2901, sending the bill to the Senate. The bill encourages the development of private market options where property owners lack access to affordable coverage under the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). READ MORE

Future TRID Rulemaking from CFPB

the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) announced that it is drafting a notice of proposed rulemaking on the Know Before You Owe rule, also known as "TRID."  Since the Know Before You Owe rule went into effect on October 3, 2015, the industry has been working hard to understand and implement the rule which replaced the Good Faith Estimate and the HUD-1 with a Loan Estimate (LE) and a Closing Disclosure (CD).
