Have you seen our beautiful beaches? On April 21, Sea Isle's federally funded Beach Replenishment Project was completed, and the Dredge Illinois stopped pumping sand onto our shoreline. I am very happy to report that our beaches - from 1st Street to Townsend Inlet - have never looked better. During this latest beach fill, our shoreline was enhanced with over 900,000 cubic yards of sand as part of refill operations that were undertaken following last fall and winter's nor'easters  <<READ MORE>>  

CITY COUNCIL'S MESSAGE

During the April 26 City Council meeting, Council President Gibson asked the Administration to consider creating public parking on city-owned land in Sea Isle's north-end along Landis Avenue, from approximately 4th to 8th Street, where practical. A current construction project in Upper Township is using this property as a staging area. There is an opportunity to take advantage of this contractor's clean-up operations to restore this area for parking. << READ MORE>>
MASTER PLAN RE-EXAM

Category Review Completed
 
The Planning Board has completed their special meetings to review the various categories for the Master Plan Re-Examination. Completion of the draft re-examination report by Maser Consulting is expected by the end of May. <<READ MORE>>

DISPOSE OF UNWANTED DRUGS

It's Time to Clean Out
Your Medicine Cabinet
 
Safely and anonymously dispose of unwanted prescription medications on Saturday, April 30, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., in the main lobby of City Hall, 233 JFK Boulevard. No liquids, needles or sharp objects will be accepted.  For more info, contact Sea Isle's Police Dept., 263-4311, ext. 2303.
 
JOIN THE BEACH CLEAN-UP
 
Beach Clean-Up 
Saturday, April 30 
 
Volunteers are needed for the Sea Isle City Environmental Commission's annual Spring Beach Clean-Up at 10:00 a.m. on April 30.  Volunteers can sign-in and pick-up supplies on JFK Boulevard at the Promenade on the morning of the clean-up. Everyone is encouraged  to participate in this important ecological event. Volunteers will receive free tee-shirts (while supplies last) provided by Approach Clothing Company, located at 6300 Landis Avenue, and a complimentary buffet lunch provided by Mike's Seafood Market & Restaurant in historic Fish Alley. COMMUNITY YARD SALE MAY 7

Do You Have Items To Sell?


Local residents and property owners are invited to clean out their closets and participate in Sea Isle City's annual Community Yard Sale on Saturday, May 7, 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Revitalization. If you have items to sell, phone or email The Chamber at 263-9090 or [email protected] and give them your address. A master list of participating homes will be available to the public on May 7. There is no fee to participate, and Municipal Yard Sale Permits are not required for this event.  

ROADWORK ON THE O.D. 

Please be aware that roadwork is taking place along the Ocean Drive (Commonwealth Avenue) between Sea Isle City and Strathmere (Sea Isle's neighbor to the north). Please allow yourself extra time and drive cautiously when traveling between Sea Isle and Starthmere.
 
SUMMER EMPLOYMENT 

Attention Seasonal Employees
 
Sea Isle City's Department of Public Works

The Sea Isle City Beach Patrol is also hiring summer employees. The test for prospective lifeguards will take place on Saturday, June 11, and Sunday, June 12. For more info, go to the Beach Patrol's website: www.sicbp.com .

NEW BEACH TAG MOBILE APP

Our Beach Tag Office Has Gone Mobile!

Apple mobile device users can save time by ordering their 2016 seasonal beach tags via a free app from Viply (download the Viply app at the iTunes store...the Viply web link will show you how it works). Once you purchase your beach tags with the Viply app, you can pick them up at your convenience after April 15 at the Sea Isle City Beach Tag Office on JFK Boulevard, where you will simply use your mobile device to scan-in and get your tags. A nominal service fee per tag will be applied at the time of purchase. For more info, visit

ZIKA VIRUS INFO

The Cape May County Health Department recently created a flyer, which stated that there has been no locally transmitted cases of Zika virus from mosquitoes reported in New Jersey at this time. However, infected individuals coming from Zika active countries could introduce the virus to mosquitoes in the US initiating local transmission. The County Department of Health and Cape May County Mosquito Control are closely monitoring reports and advisories from the Center for Disease Control & Prevention, State Health Department and World Health Organization regarding Zika virus.
