May Clean-up Events

Hey Madison South, Sumner, Rose City Park/Hollywood, and Roseway neighbors- time to think about getting rid of unused items around your home! Look for an event in your neighborhood starting May 7th. Recycle, Reuse!

Science on Wheels at Helensview School

In January, the Community Cycling Center partnered with Helensview School to launch a new 10-week bike class in Sumner. This is not your typical bike maintenance class. We worked with the science teacher to design new curriculum that teaches students science while working on bikes.

Update on Air Quality Efforts

DEQ and local agencies developed a method to decide which locations to investigate first  where high arsenic levels were detected in Rose City Park, Sumner, Cully and in SE. A set of criteria is now available  using toxics data and information about vulnerable populations to help determine when and where DEQ will send limited resources.

Comprehensive Plan and Middle Housing

The Residential Infill Project (RIP) is developing regulatory concepts that address the scale of new housing and remodels as well as appropriate types and locations for alternative housing options in single-dwelling zones . CNN will announce an open house event to learn more about the concepts and for the community to comment after the June 13th release.
