HOARDING DATA COLLECTION PROJECT
May 2016
The Edmonton Hoarding Coalition is attempting to gain a more accurate picture of the amount of resources expended on cases involving hoarding within the city of Edmonton through a Data Collection Project. This data will give a clearer indication of both the financial and social ramifications of hoarding behaviors in Edmonton.
It is imperative to enlist the participation of as many agencies and community service providers as possible in this project, as the coalition hopes the resulting data will aid in informing policies and services. Participants will be asked to track the amount of encounters and time spent on cases of hoarding throughout the month of May by using a survey tool provided through an online link. The survey tool allows for simple as well as complex encounters and single as well as multiple encounters.

This is increasingly evident as we are asked to do "more and more with less and less", which may also threaten to overwhelm coping abilities. This
presentation will provide an overview of:
- Compassion satisfaction and compassion fatigue
- Vicarious traumatization and burnout
- The factors that contribute to these concepts
- Participants will have the opportunity to explore and share self-care strategies within a holistic framework.

PROJECT MANAGER - PEGASIS
Edmonton Seniors Coordinating Council
ESCC is recruiting for a Project Manager who will play a critical role on an exciting and innovative collaborative project that will generate population level impact to reduce social isolation of marginalized seniors in Edmonton.
The Project Manager for the Pan Edmonton Group Addressing Social Isolation for Seniors (PEGASIS) will implement the project plan for the backbone component of this collective impact initiative. This involves engaging and convening partners; providing communication and community engagement support to the collaboration; disseminating information and using/overseeing online collaborative project management tools; organizing learning opportunities; and creating materials and reports that tie to internal/external communications related to the initiative.

GREETERS AND ATTENDANCE VOLUNTEERS
Continuing Care and Community Living EXPO 2016
May 6 at Northlands EXPO Centre
Volunteers are needed for
EXPO 2016, Alberta's largest independent living and mobility show.
Four shifts are available:
11:30 AM - 1:30 PM: 2 greeters and 1 attendance
1:30 PM - 3:30 PM: 2 greeters and 1 attendance
3:30 PM - 5:30 PM: 2 greeters and 1 attendance
5:30 PM - 8:00 PM: 2 greeters and 1 attendance
Duties:
- When you arrive, you will be stationed at the main doors to the EXPO hall.
- You will be provided with programs (greeters) or an attendance tracker device (attendance)
- Familiarize yourself with the program, the layout of the Hall and nearest restrooms, and food and beverage areas.
- Greeters will provide the handouts to each attendee, noting that the exhibitors, poster listings and information sessions are listed in their programs. Greeters should be prepared to answer general questions about presentation times, location of washrooms, parking, etc.
- Attendance volunteer will ensure the attendance tracker device is updated for each guest.
- At the end of your shift, please proceed to the EXPO event room (In Hall H), transfer your remaining programs and your attendance tracker device to the next set of greeters and attendance volunteers. We invite all volunteers to stay and enjoy the presentations and review the exhibit booths.
