We are thankful for our dedicated Search Committee.
They persevered through the search process and found,
who we all trust to be, the person God has sent to
minister to us
and the community. They worked for months,
spending hours
going through the lengthy profiles
of dozens of interested candidates, meeting weekly to
discuss them all. The committee was as diverse
as our congregation, with varying ideas and opinions.
They worked together being respectful of the different
opinions and praying for discernment. They no doubt felt
pressured to find someone to fill the
role quickly,
as our worship attendance and giving fell. However,
did
not give in to haste. I understand the committee
was interested in this candidate from the time they first
saw his profile. They were patient
and objective in
their consideration of all candidates. So after months
of prayer and discussion they were pleased when
they all agreed on
the one candidate they felt God sent to us,
Rev. Jim Coyl.
Knowing how difficult the months were for us and knowing it
was far more difficult for the committee, be sure to offer up prayers
of blessing, for each of our committee members and their families.
