The program includes remarks by Mayor Eric Garcetti, Child Survivor Marie Kaufman, Consul General of Israel David Siegel, and Memorial Scrolls Trust Chair Jeffrey Ohrenstein, and music by soloists Gary Levine and Adam Yaron.

Holocaust Survivor Memoir Drive
 
We are actively building our collection of memoirs written by Holocaust Survivors for the  Remember Us Memoir Project. We will have a table staffed by volunteers prepared to answer questions about the Memoir Project and grateful to accept Holocaust memoirs of any kind, especially those written by local community members.

Please join us on Thursday, April 28, at 2:00 pm, or Friday, April 29, at 12:00 pm, for conversation with Jeffrey Ohrenstein, Chair of the Memorial Scrolls Trust in London. Mr. Ohrenstein will speak and be available for dialogue about our special exhibit of Czech Torah scrolls rescued during the Holocaust, collected in Prague, and loaned after the war by the Memorial Scrolls Trust to congregations in the Los Angeles area.

Motke Blum, Boat Skeletons

LAMOTH invites you to the opening reception for  Reflections in Light,  an exhibit of art by Israeli artist Motke Blum. Mr. Blum was born in Romania in 1925 and in 1944 he escaped Europe and arrived in Israel. On this day, Yom HaShoah, Mr. Blum will celebrate his 91st birthday in Jerusalem, and we will celebrate him in Los Angeles.
