Work will begin Monday on a $1.8 million widening project at 99th Avenue and Union Hills Drive intended to reduce congestion and accidents at the busy intersection, a Maricopa County Department of Transportation official announced Wednesday.

The West Valley Arts Council (WVAC) is currently accepting submissions for a juried show at the West Valley Arts HQ gallery. Deadline for submission is May 13, 2016.   Tails, Scales and Feathers is a juried exhibit and will feature artwork of animals in a variety of styles and techniques.

IRIS USA opens Surprise facility next week

PUSD honors 3 Pride of Peoria employees

Three Peoria Unified employees were awarded top honors in Support Services, Teaching and Administration during the 31st Annual Pride of Peoria Employee Recognition Celebration Monday at the Arizona Broadway Theatre.  As part of the event, 36 district employees in a myriad of positions throughout the district were publicly honored as Pride of Peoria award recipients for their contributions to their schools and the district. These teachers and support staff were nominated by their colleagues for outstanding service.
