Sucre, Bolivia mission update 4/6/16
  Greetings fellow missioners,
We are back from the Sucre, Bolivia mission and it was a success. Thanks to the team for making it successful. Without your help we would never be able to help all the people who received our care. Prosper and the hospital staff are very grateful for the work we have done. They look forward to coming years. There are challenges we need to face and questions to answer, but if it became easy we would be bored.

With the above thought in mind I would ask for your help. For all future medical based missions medical supplies are needed. Hospitals have been cutting back on the supplies donated to the medical mission. This is for a variety of reasons, but I need to contact medical suppliers and see how we can work with them to get the supplies we need. Of course donations are preferred, but purchasing items has to become a reality, ideally anything purchased would be best at wholesale cost. So any medical supply reps you can introduce me to would be appreciated.

The Navajo Mission team is moving into its final month of preparation. They will be leaving for Chinle, Arizona on June 4th and return on June 17th. They will be building a variety of projects on the Navajo Reservation. Please keep these men and women in your prayers.

Our next mission is to Africa. In fact you have a choice. We are going to Upendo Village, which is in Naivasha, Kenya. This is a clinical mission. The medical team will work at Upendo Village and surrounding villages. We leave for Kenya on September 9th and return on September 24th. In October we are planning to go to Ibanda, Uganda. The dates are October 7th through October 22nd. This is a surgical mission. We are actively looking for medical folks to join these two missions. For information on the African mission send a note to missions@dioceseofjoliet.org. We’ll work out the details.

Finally, November 13th, a Sunday, will be the date for this years Faith Promise Dinner. Fr. Burke Masters will be our guest speaker. He will share his experiences of mission and the call to proclaim mission to the world. Again sent a note to missions@dioceseofjoliet.org for more information.
