Ben's Buzz:

April 27, 2016

Welcome back from April Vacation. I hope that all of our BFCCPS Families had a wonderful and restful vacation.  Today marks the 145th day of school, leaving only 35 days of school this year! The year is truly flying right by!

BFCCPS will commence our State Mandated testing in early May. In developing the test schedule we worked with the grade level teachers to determine if they would prefer to schedule AM and PM sessions to complete the testing in an abbreviated period of time, or if they would prefer to stretch the testing segments over a number of days to reduce the time dedicated to testing on any given day.  You will find the complete schedule for all testing sessions included below which was created based on their input.

All  students in Grades 3-8 will take the computer based PARCC Assessment.  Students in only grades 5 & 8 will also take the MCAS Science assessment which is is a paper and pencil based test.

Our students have been preparing in school through practice tests and the use of the Finish Line curriculum.  You can see examples of the PARCC assessment or questions, by visit PARCC at: http://parcc.pearson.com/practice-tests/.  You can also find examples of test items, by visiting PARCC at http://parcc.pearson.com/sample-items/

The complete testing schedule is included just below.  Please remember that it is important for students to have a good night's sleep prior to testing, and to eat a nice, healthy breakfast the morning of. Lastly, please be sure to send in a pair of headphones for students to use for their PARCC testing dates which are listed below.
