On Saturday June 4, 2016 the City of St. Catharines will celebrate excellence in all areas of artistic creation and contribution, honouring local artists and cultural leaders and their achievements with awards handed out in 6 categories.

Featuring performances by this year's nominees, this "dress-awesome" evening includes an after-party at  Mahtay Cafe and Lounge. Join  Mayor Walter Sendzik and  City Council, members of the  Arts & Culture Advisory Committee and this year's exciting roster of Award Nominees in this once-a-year evening of local celebrities!

Culture Days Activity Program (CDAP) Funding Session
Interested in participating in Culture Days? Need some funds to pay an artist? The City of St. Catharines Culture Days Activity Program (CDAP) can help  (pending Council approval on May 2). The purpose of CDAP is to support the development and execution of St. Catharines-based Culture Days activities (projects, events and workshops) within the city. Come learn more about CDAP, how to prepare an application, and speak to Cultural Services staff  about your ideas !

Ontario's Culture Strategy
The Ontario Government is developing a Culture Strategy which will set a vision for arts and culture, define priorities and guide support for the sector in the years to come. P articipate in the next stage of consultation and provide feedback on the core elements of the draft Culture Strategy.
The consultation period for the  draft Culture Strategy is open until May 13, 2016.

Canadian Content in a Digital World
The Government of Canada has released a pre-consultation questionnaire, designed to get feedback on the issues of importance surrounding the creation, discovery and export of Canadian content in a digital world. This policy will affect Niagara-based artists so check it out!
The questionnaire will be available online until May 20, 2016.

Webinars: Strategic Planning - FREE
Ontario Presents is hosting a two part (May 4 and 11) introductory session for small organizations who: have not done strategic planning; do not have the resources to have an experienced planner facilitate planning, or; are either fearful or don't know where to start. Webinar: Creating Accessible Documents - $45
On Tuesday, June 7 Accessibility Ontario hosts, Overview To Document Accessibility. This webinar will introduce the basic concepts and practices required to create accessible Word, InDesign and PDF documents. The Cultural Services office is a division of the City of St. Catharines' Parks, Recreation and Culture Services department. Cultural Services focuses on public art, community development, planning and policy related to arts and culture in the City of St. Catharines.
