Docent spotlight: Todd Noreen

Todd Noreen was one of the first volunteers at the Mansion after the Metro District completed the renovation of the home. His first shift was in January 2013, however he volunteered at the Mansion when it was owned by Shea Homes prior to the Metro District taking ownership of the property.

"I love the people I volunteer with and the people that visit," said Noreen. "I love getting people excited about the Mansion."

Todd's favorite room is the solarium. He enjoys the airy, light, cheery feel of the room. "The terrazzo floor is so interesting, especially the intricate mosaic border."

Todd was a ski instructor at Loveland Ski Area for nearly 25 years and often volunteered for their blind skier program.

When not volunteering at the Mansion, Todd can be found motorcycling, mountain biking, skiing or playing his mountain dulcimer.
The Mansion's history is fascinating

You might have heard about some of the wealthy and successful men that once owned the Highlands Ranch Mansion, but did you know the Mansion also had a female owner?

Annie Clifton Springer, daughter of John Springer, briefly owned the property from 1918-1920, after inheriting it from her grandfather, Colonel William Hughes. The Highlands Ranch Mansion was owned by three different members of the Springer/Hughes family for a total of 23 years.
