Easter 6, Year C
God, pour into our hearts
such love towards you, that we,
loving you in all things and above all things,
may obtain your promises,
which exceed all that we can desire.

St. Luke's Ends Programming Year with Pentecost Picnic!

May 15 will be the last day of Sunday School, the last day for regular services times, and there is no forum or breakfast in summer.

No forum or breakfast on
May 15; rather there will be a red-hot, Cajun-themed party on the lawn at 11:30 a.m.

P.S. The party will be red hot, but the food will be "add your own heat."
Spotlight on:
Summer Arts Camp Ministries

Camp registration is still open for kids who have completed kindergarten through fifth grade. (The preschool class is already closed.) Sign up now; the other classes will also close when full. Click for the poster or registration form.

The cost is $10 for 4 half-days of music, stories, games, and community building, plus a focus on VALUES -- truly a bargain.

We want to encourage families to participate in this wonderful experience, regardless of income. To keep the cost low, there are many opportunities to support the program:
  • Helping prepare, serve and clean up snack one day or more
  • Contributing crackers, cheese sticks, nutritious breakfast bars
  • Making a cash donation for perishable snacks: fruit or yogurt
There is a basket in the narthex for contributions and see Tricia to volunteer to help.

Campers will be focusing on the stories of St. Luke, including the story of the Good Samaritan. Part of the focus will include assembling Breakfast Bags for Homeless Gear. (Yes, we did this earlier in the school year too. Kids love packing the bags and it really gets them thinking about being dependent on a meal in a bag.) Donations of any of the following are welcomed -- please buy in individual servings:
  • Fruit bars
  • Breakfast/Granola Bars
  • Raisin boxes
  • Oatmeal or other Instant Hot Cereal
  • Juice Box, Gatorade, Capri Suns, Bottled Water
  • Cereal Snack Boxes & Powdered Milk (Individual size)
  • Fruit Roll Ups or Fruit Snacks
  • Peanut Butter Crackers
  • Jerky
  • Trail Mix
  • Nuts
  • Fruit Cups
  • Pudding Cups
  • Hot Chocolate Packets (just add water)
  • Instant Soups/Cup-a-Noodles
  • Instant Mac and Cheese
There is a large bag underneath the Camp table in the narthex for Homeless Gear contributions.

Again, for more information, contact Tricia or visit the Summer Arts Camp table in the narthex after church.
