LLANO Chamber of Commerce Newsletter
A Word from the Director
April showers bring May flowers, or in Llano, more flowers. It has been a busy spring at the Llano Visitor Center and Chamber of Commerce with all the beautiful wildflowers. As we settle into the end of this season, we are looking forward to more activities in and around Llano.

May 27 is our annual Taste of Llano featuring the delightful restaurants and Beds and Breakfast in Llano.  We invite you all to attend from 5:30-7:00 for some of the best food in Texas. It is also Llano Rodeo Parade time & we have applications at the Chamber...  This is a great way to be seen by the thousands that line up for Llano's largest parade.   So come on down and let us register your wagon, doggy, lawn chair, pom poms, broom, Jeep, unicycle...

Briley
DustDevilWhatDoesn'tHeDo?
Well, it's been two years and he's still going strong at the Chamber as Executive Director, which many of you know entails a heck of a lot more than showing up at an office from 9 to 5 Monday through Friday.

Other than directing the Llano Chamber, Mr. Mitchell is also the owner-operator of DustDevilDiver Photography here in Llano, a gallery, photo studio and framing business by appointment.  He shoots and writes for the Llano News and for the Llano JLK Events Center, serves on the Texas Workforce Commission Board, the Llano Lions Club, Llano Community Theater Board, and is very active with the men's group at the First Baptist Church.

The reason the position of Llano Chamber Director is such a tough one to manage is that it comes with a huge chain of duties under great time demands for little salary.  Briley has not only taken these Chamber & Visitor Center duties on, but expanded our event and advertising arena greatly; and he does so with the positive attitude that makes us all LOVE LLANO!  And sometimes he just goes outside for a while and takes pictures of pretty flowers...  Once engaged in a conversation about his hometown, you may just find yourself thinking, "This place is enchanting!"  There is certainly an infectious joy in his passion for our wonderful little town on the river.

If you haven't met him or don't know who Briley Mitchell is, just pick up The Llano News, walk into the Llano Visitor Center, attend virtually any City or sporting event or meeting  in town... and you might just wind up in the paper or on Facebook!
