Yoga helps us work with the "come what may" concept at a deeper level, understanding that acceptance of the present moment requires a radical form of mindfulness, honesty, and acceptance of the self and others at all times. This excerpt from Donna Farhi's book, Bringing Yoga to Life, illustrates the power of these practices: 

" When the 'me' that was seeing the world through the eyes of defense, anger, or blame ceases to exist, the manifestation of defense, anger, or blame also ceases to exist. Then when we see, we are seeing things as they really are. Choiceless awareness doesn't pick and choose, and it doesn't take a stand for or against an experience. Choiceless awareness notices what is. It allows us to relax into life. And this relaxing into life affords us an immediate experience of happiness and peacefulness that is not affected by life's vicissitudes."

As we continue our practice of bringing yoga from our mat into our daily life, we turn to our friends, family, and community for support. Our monthly Mindfulness Meditation class (May 15), as well as our schedule of weekly yoga classes and special events are designed to offer a safe and welcoming space to explore your unique yoga practice. As we move into May, may we continue to learn and grow together.
