The Prophets: Pundits, Politicians, or Prognosticators?

ADL program facilitator Michelle Geisler will present  Words to Action.  This program is designed to  empower Jewish students, family members, and community members to respond to incidents of anti-Semitism and anti-Israel bias they may encounter on campus. O pen to the community.

Yom Hashoah Holocaust Commemoration (offsite)
Thursday, May 5, from 12:00pm to 1:00pm
Westchester County synagogues who have a holocaust rescued Torah, including WRT, will participate in a Holocaust Torah Procession to open the Yom Hashoah Holocaust Commemoration at the Garden of Remembrance, 148 Martine Avenue, White Plains. This ceremony is a joint effort of the Holocaust and Human Rights Education Center and the Westchester Jewish Council and will includes remarks by a survivor and elected officials. It is free and open to all.

Each month Rabbi Blake and a special guest have welcomed WRT members for cocktails, hors d'ouevres, and provocative conversation about the hot topics of our time that affect faith communities with special force. Our guest speaker this month will be Rabbi Stephanie Kolin of Central Synagogue in Manhattan, discussing soical justice in today's Reform Jewish Movement. This is the last scheduled meeting for the series.  This adult education program is made possible with support from the Vivienne Sulds Memorial Fund.

Yom Hashoah - which literally means "Day of Catastrophe" - commemorates the Holocaust (27th day of the month of Nisan; May 5, 2016). Please join with members of the WRT community when we honor this day with our annual Service of Responsibility to remember those who were lost, celebrate those who fought, and honor those who survived to tell their stories. Rabbi Michael Boyden, spiritual leader of Israeli Reform congregation Kehilat Yonatan, played a key role in bringing the Reform voice to Israel's "conversion crisis." His talk will address Israel's unique blend of theocratic and democratic government and the challenges Reform Jews face in navigating the current system.

We celebrate her indelible contributions as we mark her retirement and will offer a special blessing to Sorel and her family.
