CONGRATULATIONS TO MRS. PATTI HUTCHISON
MARCH TEACHER OF THE MONTH
Mrs. Hutchison's philosophy of Teaching: On a personal level, first and foremost she cares about her students and she likes them! This is the foundation of everything in education. Therefore she says "good morning" or "hello" to students when they walk in the door so they will know that she is approachable. Mostly she tries to make the media center a welcoming place where students and faculty are supported! And she loves to laugh!
|
CONGRATULATIONS TO MRS. DEBORAH MARTINA
APRIL TEACHER OF THE MONTH
Mrs. Martina's philosophy of Teaching: With mathematics there are so many formulas and methods to find the answers and many times students just want to memorize because this is what they have always done to pass an assessment without the knowledge of the origins of the formula. I try to help them by not giving the formulas, but have them discover the origins of the formula. Memorization does not work... but knowledge of "the why" helps them to devise the formula when they need the information.
