The National Football Foundation  will announce the members of the 2016 NFF Hampshire Honor Society on Wednesday, April 27. C elebrating its 10th year, the society is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college career.

The NFF Hampshire Honor Society capitalizes on the current NFF National Scholar-Athlete program by greatly expanding the number of scholar-athletes the NFF can recognize each year. Jon F. Hanson, chairman and founder of The Hampshire Companies and NFF Chairman Emeritus, generously provided the endowment to launch the NFF Hampshire Honor Society in 2007. The initiative has previously honored 5,752 student-athletes since its inception.

April 30, Teacher Appreciation Day- Join us on April 30 as we show teachers a little love. In honor of National Teacher Appreciation Day, all educators are invited to visit the Hall for FREE with their valid identification.

May 6, NFF's MacArthur Bowl PresentationCalling all Bama fans! Don your houndstooth and head to the Hall to celebrate this year's National Championship. The NFF will present Alabama, with Coach Nick Saban on hand to accept, the NFF's MacArthur Bowl National Championship Trophy in a public ceremony May 6 at 2 p.m. ET. The MacArthur Bowl, presented by the National Football Foundation since 1959 to the year's most outstanding football team, was commissioned by General Douglas MacArthur and designed and donated by Tiffany & Co. Click here for tickets

NFF Chairman and College Football Hall of Famer Archie Manning (Mississippi) will be the featured speaker for Augusta University (Ga.)'s Alumni Weekend Signature Event on April 30.

NFF Board Member and Apple CEO Tim Cook was named to Time's list of the "100 Most Influential People."

College Football Hall of Famers  Bo Jackson (Auburn), Sterling Sharpe (South Carolina), Steve Spurrier (Florida), Wesley Walls (Mississippi) and Andre Ware (Houston) and 1978 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Steve Fuller (Clemson) are among the participants in the ninth annual Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Challenge charity golf tournament, which will take place May 1-3 at the Reynolds Lake Oconee resort outside Atlanta.

College Football Hall of Famer LaDainian Tomlinson (TCU) will be inducted into the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame on May 7.

College Football Hall of Famer Jay Berwanger (Chicago [Ill.]) will be inducted into the United States Rugby Hall of Fame on June 4 in Philadelphia.

Ohio State has trademarked the name of College Football Hall of Fame coach Woody Hayes.

The new University of Tennessee Athletics Hall of Fame inducted its 2016 class on April 16, which included College Football Hall of Famers Doug AtkinsGeorge CafegoSteve DeLongBobby DoddNathan DoughertyFrank EmanuelBeattie FeathersHerman HickmanBob Johnson (also a 1967 NFF National Scholar-Athlete), Chip KellSteve KinerHank LauricellaJohnny MajorsGene McEverJohn MichelsEd MolinskiBob SuffridgeReggie White and Bowden Wyatt and 1997 Campbell Trophy winner Peyton Manning.

College Football Hall of Fame coach and 2004 NFF John L. Toner Award recipient Vince Dooley was selected as the professional recipient of the Wooden Cup, which is given to a collegiate and a professional or Olympic athlete who have made the greatest positive influence in the lives of others. 2015 William V. Campbell Trophy recipient Ty Darlington (Oklahoma) and Denison (Ohio) football player Lucas Romick are among five finalists for the 2016 Collegiate Wooden Cup, which will be announced at the award ceremony April 27.

College Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders (Florida State), Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer and Stanford head coach David Shaw will appear on the NFL Network's coverage of the 2016 NFL Draft. 

Saint John's (Minn.) will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on May 5 for Gagliardi Field, which is named for College Football Hall of Fame coach John Gagliardi.

College Football Hall of Fame coach Jim Tressel, now the president at Youngstown State, recently outlined priorities for upgrading the university's campus.

2013 Campbell Trophy recipient John Urschel (Penn State) will be the commencement speaker at his alma mater's College of Science ceremony on May 7.

1997 Campbell Trophy winner Peyton Manning (Tennessee) will speak at the Freed-Hardeman University Benefit Dinner on Dec. 2 in Henderson, Tenn.

2015 NFF Gold Medal recipient Dr. Condoleezza Rice  will serve as the commencement speaker at High Point University (N.C.) on May 7.
Over The Middle
The  NFFCHOF-Bill Dooley (N.C.) Chapter  will hold its scholar-athlete banquet April 25 in the Blue Zone at Kenan Memorial Stadium in Chapel Hill. College Football Hall of Famer Don McCauley (North Carolina) will be in attendance.

The NFF Corrigan/Faircloth (N.C.) Chapter will host its scholar-athlete banquet April 26 in the Greensboro Coliseum Terrace Room in Greensboro, N.C. Duke head football coach David Cutcliffe will be the featured speaker.

The NFF Texas Tech Chapter scholar-athlete banquet will be held April 27 at the Overton Hotel in Lubbock, Texas. Speakers at the event will include Texas Tech athletics director Kirby Hocutt and Texas Tech head football coach Kliff Kingsbury, who was honored as a 2002 NFF National Scholar-Athlete.

The NFF Passaic County (N.J.) Chapter will hold its scholar-athlete banquet April 27 at the Mountainside Inn in Clifton, N.J.

The NFF Rio Grande Valley (Texas) Chapter's scholar-athlete banquet will take place April 27 at the Victoria Palms in Weslaco, Texas. Former Texas A&M-Kingsville and NFL center Roberto Garza will be the guest speaker.

The NFF Moose Krause (Ind.) Chapter's scholar-athlete banquet is scheduled for April 28 in South Bend, Ind.

The NFF Northern California Chapter, in conjunction with UCSF Sports Medicine and the PlaySafe Program, will offer baseline concussion testing for high school student-athletes on April 30. The pilot program will involve the South San Francisco High School varsity football program at the outset.

The NFF Southern Idaho Chapter will host its Scholar-Athlete Banquet on April 30 at the Red Lion Hotel in Boise.

The NFF Tacoma/Pierce County (Wash.) Chapter will celebrate its 40th annual scholar-athlete banquet May 1. The chapter will distribute more than $16,000 in scholarships and the guest speaker will be 1989 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Mark Tingstad (Arizona State).

The NFF Tom Lombardo/St. Louis Chapter's Scholar-Athlete Banquet will take place May 1 at Orlando Gardens. Brian Stann, a former Navy football player, mixed martial artist and U.S. Marine, will be the guest speaker.

The NFF Hawaii Chapter will host its scholar-athlete banquet May 1 at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel in Honolulu.

The NFF Vermont Chapter's scholar-athlete banquet will take place May 1 at Castleton University in Castleton, Vt.

The NFF Joe Mewhiney/Central Mass Chapter will hold its scholar-athlete banquet May 1 at the Marlboro Marriott in Marlboro, Mass.

The NFF Emo DiNitto/Rhode Island Chapter will hold its 29th Annual Scholar-Athlete Awards Dinner May 2 at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick, R.I. The chapter will recognize 28 scholar-athletes, including 12 Golden Dozen and 16 Silver honorees, for their outstanding academic and football achievements. Two of the Golden Dozen honorees will receive $1,000 scholarships, increasing the chapter's total grants to more than $140,000. The chapter will also honor its Distinguished American Louis Marciano, Contribution to Amateur Football Award recipient Ted Stebbins and Football Official Joseph Schwab.

The  NFF Memphis Chapter   will host  its scholar-athlete banquet May 2 at Rhodes College, honoring 12 high school seniors and two college players. The chapter will also present Auburn OL Shon Coleman, a Memphis native, with the chapter's Mario Reed Courage Award.

The NFF New Hampshire Chapter's scholar-athlete banquet will be May 3 at the Executive Court Banquet Facility in Manchester, N.H.
 
The NFF Touchdown Club of Houston Chapter will hold its 50th Anniversary "Touchdowner of the Year" Banquet May 4 at the Westin Galleria Ballroom. NFF Chairman and College Football Hall of Famer Archie Manning (Mississippi) will be the guest of honor. The chapter will host a Hall of Fame Golf Tournament the day before at Wildcat Golf Course.

The NFF Joe Tiller/Northwest Indiana Chapter is sponsoring the fifth annual Ryan Kerrigan/12th Boiler Golf Outing, which will take place May 6 at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex at Purdue.

The 41st annual NFF Jack Grinold/Eastern Massachusetts Chapter Scholar-Athlete Banquet will be held May 15 at the Boston/Newton Marriott. The banquet will honor 33 high school scholar-athletes and the 2016 recipients of the Daly, Schluntz and Burton Awards. Boston College play-by-play announcer Jon Meter-Parel will return as the emcee.

Bob Keropian, president of the NFF Northern California Chapter and former NFF West Region Coordinator, will be inducted into the Peninsula Sports Hall of Fame on June 8 at the Green Hills Country Club in Millbrae, Calif.

The NFF Mountain Empire (Tenn.) Chapter will hold its annual golf tournament June 17 at Crockett Ridge Golf Course in Kingsport, Tenn. Proceeds from the tournament help fund the chapter's scholarships.

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley announced the members of its football feasibility study committee, which includes NCAA executive vice president and 1981 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Oliver Luck (West Virginia) and is being chaired by former Texas head coach Mack Brown... Texas Wesleyan, which begins play in 2017, signed its first four recruits.. 

Scheduling

Colorado State and Texas Tech announced a home-and-home series for 2025 and 2026... UMass and Georgia will meet in 2018... Georgia also added Murray State to its 2018 schedule...
