Mr. Birdsong's Newsletter

Happy Monday morning! Field Day/Popcorn Movie Day/Dinner Auction Dodgeball Day/and Spring Dance! Just a little bit going on at St. Teresa last Friday, but we wouldn't have it any other way. We would like to either say "You're welcome" for wearing them out or "We're sorry for getting the students way too excited before sending them home!" Besides Friday's festivities, we had several other events last week. The Humane Society visited on Monday, we went to the Cardinals game on Wednesday, and we had the STAA pizza pick-up Thursday.
St. Teresa School was represented by a number of students at the Gateway East Young Achievers Program last Sunday. Sloan August, Audrey Beyersdorfer, Caroline Cunningham, Samantha Hunn, Olivia Lugge, Grace Strieker, Katie Wemhoener, and Liesl Whitener were this year's selections. Sloan August also received a Medallion and $50 for outstanding accomplishment. Congratulations to all of the students for being recognized for their hard work and dedication through the years.
You should have received information in an eblast on Friday that explained our transition to an electronic curriculum. Please take the time to read the FAQ sheet and feel free to join us Monday, April 25, at 6:30 p.m. for the PTO meeting to ask any questions you have. We will have an open forum type of setting so that representatives from the technology committee and I can answer your questions immediately. For your convenience, dinner will be served for meeting attendees, and c omplimentary childcare will be provided.
Next Friday and Saturday nights are our Annual Spring Musical performances. The students have been working very hard on the show and are excited to present their version of The Lion King Jr. Please join us for what should be a most enjoyable performing arts event.
As I have mentioned in previous newsletters, I am working on our fundraising events for next year. We have promoted and supported a number of worthy items over the past two years, but I also realize that our school families can only give so much. With that being said, I am finalizing the events that we must have next year in order for our programs and school to fully function. Besides those events, we will have a few fundraising events that are more in the charitable/donation column (coats for the poor, penny wars/etc.). When the list is complete, I will send out a finalized schedule so that you are aware of the events in advance.
Please remember to remind the students to finish the year strong. It is very easy for the students to become distracted this time of year with all of the special events and activities. But with only twenty-two days left, they need to buckle down and complete their race.

Sincerely,

Mr. Birdsong

Calling All With A Green Thumb
Any Saturday
The Youth Group started seedlings for the Community Garden at their meeting on April 3. We would welcome the help of some seasoned gardeners to help us in our endeavor to have a thriving Community Garden. Anyone who would like to help is welcome to join us on any Saturday in April and May at 9:00 am or during the week when it is convenient for you. We will need help to weed the beds, water the garden, mulch the areas around the beds and keep the crops harvested.  Our goal is to provide vegetables to the Food Pantry on a weekly basis!
