PG&E has planned safety work to maintain natural gas pipelines and other PG&E-owned natural gas system infrastructure near our school:
  • Project Location: Myra Way between Reposa Way and Molimo Dr. 
  • Expected Start Date: 5/11/16
  • Expected Finish Date: 8/25/16
  • Work Hours: 7am-5pm
Parking on Myra Way will most likely be deeply affected.

The teachers have been handing out optional Parent Feedback Form at the parent teacher conference. If you want to fill one out, please follow our No Request Policy, which states that we do not take parent requests for their child's teacher and class placement for the ensuing school year.

The Miraloma Spring Fest is THIS SUNDAY, April 2412-3pm

We'll have lots of terrific games, delicious food, great live DJ, and our fabulous bake sale! Entry is FREE and all the games are FREE! Bring $$ for food trucks  and bake sale.

Volunteer!
All of this is only possible when everyone pitches in and helps to set-up, run a game, or clean up.  Sign up to help!  If a game does not get enough volunteers it will not go out on that day!

Donate!
We are collecting new/lightly used toys for prizes (NO stuffed animals, pillows, clothing, or worn-out toys)
Drop you donations in the collection box at the office or at morning circle near the cafeteria. 

Bake!
We would love some more savory items. Please sign up for baked goods! Make sure to pack bake sale items in $1 increments (unless it's a large item) and mention if there are nuts in it.

Here is a short overview of the process and parties involved in selecting and hiring our next super(wo)man Principal:

Process/Time Line
April:
  • Input from the Miraloma community was gathered
  • Miraloma Interview Team develops hiring criteria
  • The Miraloma Interview Team along with a District trained facilitator will interview a selection of candidates and recommend a principal candidate to SFUSD's Superintendent
Early-May:  The Superintendent will interview the school's recommended candidate(s) and make a final recommendation to the School Board.
Mid-May:  The School Board will vote in closed session in mid-May on the contract.

Parties Involved
  • The School Board - is the final decision maker for all SFUSD principal placements
  • Miraloma Interview Team - recommends principal candidate
    • Faculty Reps: Ms. Chambers, Ms. Huang, Ms. Kirman, Ms. Kitsuda
    • Parent Reps: Incoming PTA President Sarah Sims, SSC Member Al Collins, Second Grade parent Julia Hwang
  • Miraloma Hiring Subcommittee - processes community input together with Interview Team
    • Faculty: Ms. Bessy, Ms. E., Ms. Osborne, Ms. Romo, Ms. Simmons

  • Miraloma Community - gave input through online form and/or by communicating with the Interview Team/Hiring Subcommittee.
At the beginning of the school year,  several Miraloma families initiated a collection for the Nepal Earthquake relief efforts and raised close to $4,000 from our community.
This donation to the
Ama Foundation helped  provide medical and hygiene supplies, tent shelters, blankets and food to the victims. They also gave 13 children who lost their families a new home, loving care and education. A big Thank You to all who participated!
