In our March newsletter, we informed you that the Food Access Task Force is working on updates to the 2014 Task Force Report and has formed five working groups. The task force has since identified a leader for the transportation work group and we encourage you to get involved in this work group, or one of the others, by contacting the group leaders listed below:
Please also remember to save Wednesday, August 24, 2016 as the date for the second annual S.C. Food Access Summit. The all day summit will be held at the River Center at Saluda Shoals in Irmo. Stay tuned for more information on the event and sponsorship opportunities next month!

Since 2004, we have provided 297 loans for $27.4 million in f inancing
that facilitated more than $221.6 million in community development projects; we
financed 1,291 housing units, 7 healthy food outlets, 9 community facilities, and 10
c ommunity businesses, creating or retaining 2,929 jobs and providing a safe,
affordable place to call home for 2,228 individuals and families.
